The morning came sooner than expected. Around early in the morning, (Y/n), Killua, and Gon were awake, eating breakfast, before they spent the entire day inside Gon's room. They could have been doing things outside, but they decided not to, not after what they've heard about Gon's father. To say the least, Gon's father was...an interesting character. He left his child with a relative before he disappeared.

"Sounds like...my dad," (Y/n) softly smiled. She understood how Gon might feel, but by the looks of it, he didn't feel anything for his father. To him, it was probably just a big scavenger hunt. Her father disappeared too, but her's was a different case of disappearance. She actually had time with him before they separated. She wasn't at all abandoned after her birth.

"I'm sure your dad is much different than mine," Gon hummed, "I remember seeing pictures of him. Your dad actually took care of you. My dad sort of just left me here. Of course, I don't really have any grudges against him, since I don't actually know him." The teen had a smile on his face as he brought out a small box. It had weird lines on it. It wasn't any regular cardboard box.

"Aunt Mito told me Ging left this for me," the black-haired teen spoke, "Said there's something in there for me. Ging told her to give it to me after I've finished my hunter exam and well, I finished that months ago." Gon shook the box, hearing contents inside. Whatever it is inside, it sounds like another box. It was definitely something bigger than a coin.

The trio tried to find ways to open the box. There were no clear openings and it appeared that it was going to spring open. The three sat together in a circle, with everyone's eyes on the box. They pondered for a moment. Each was quiet...until one of them had a eureka moment. They eventually got it open through the power of nen.

The box exploded into buddles of sticks and another box was revealed. This one seemed less complicated than the paneled box. Killua picked up one of the sticks and noticed strange markings. "Hey...these have the same marking as the ring Mr. Wing wrapped around your finger. Didn't he say it would break when you used nen. I guess it's the same as the first box."

(Y/n) picked up the box in the middle and studied it. "There's a slot at the bottom. I think you can put your hunter's license in there." The girl handed her friend the box and watched him insert his license. The fancy cube was then opened to reveal a cassette tape, a ring, and some kind of memory card.

"Is that what I think it is?" (Y/n) mumbled. She looked at Killua, knowing that he had the same idea as her. "It's a joystation memory card," the two said simultaneously. The trio studies the contents of the box, humming at the different trinkets. The ring was intricate, with markings and a bright emerald on the middle. Or at least, that's what it looked like.

The cassette tape was the first thing that the three investigated. As Gon pressed the play button of the cassette tape player, a voice rang out through the speakers. It was his father, Ging, speaking through, and by the sound of it, he was a major prick. He could even be seen as selfish too. That ticked off (Y/n) a little bit. At least he admits it in the tape.

Ging explained his disappearance to Gon and what he must do to find him. The raven-haired teen was clearly making some notes in his head. He was concentrating. He really wanted to find his dad. Gon stopped the tape when Ging was going to talk about his mom. The two with him sent Gon a curious look.

"Why'd you stop it?" (Y/n) and Killua asked.

"I don't really wanna know. It's just a gut feeling of mine. Besides, Aunt Mito is my mom." Gon smiled at his friends before he looked at the ring in the box. He wanted to inspect it more, since the inside had the same patterns as the box. As the teens were about to shift their attention away from the cassette tape player, the tape started playing again. This time it was erasing itself.
