Chapter 4: New Hope

Percy POV:

I wake up to be harrassed by shining golden lights all around me. When I open my eyes I realise I am in a hospital ward where everything is good, the ceiling, walls, implements. Thank God the bedsheet is white at least of I would've been blinded by gold overload.

I thought, a hospital ward with everything golden? Probably the Temple of Apollo. I chuckled, then the events before I fainted came to me with the force of a truck. I gasped and started sobbing. I felt a red flash next to me and was engulfed into a hug. I looked up to see Hestia's calm and comforting face.

" It's alright Perseus, let it out. Do not despair, though, not all hope is lost."" How? My family is dead, the campers hate me and Annabeth left me."" Some of your family survives, Perseus."" Your sister." She replies to my questioning look." Estelle? She's alive??"" Yes. Apparently your parents, sensing danger, used chloroform to put her to sleep and hid her in the cupboard. She is currently asleep in my temple."

" Thank you, Lady Hestia." I croak.

"No problem, Perseus. It is the least I could do for you."

"Now come. The Council wishes to speak to you."

At the Throne Room:

I walk past the golden double doors, into the throne room. I notice all 14 gods are in attendance. I see Athena looking at me with a neutral face, probably in huge internal conflict, knowing I was right, but hating the fact that her daughter was unwise, and was cursed for it.

I bow to Zeus, and kneel at my father's throne, only to be crushed in a hug by said God.

"I'm so sorry Percy." He whispers in my ear and I notice his eyes are a dull sea green and his usually dark black hair has flecks of white.

"It's alright dad. It's not your fault. I don't blame you."

"But you should! This burden is not only yours! It is mine too! They were my family too! Stop blaming yourself solely!"" Damn your fatal flaw." He mutters and I smile.

"Lord Zeus I have a request."

"Go ahead, Hero of Olympus." He booms.

" I wish for temporary residence in Olympus with my sister. I wish for her to grow up on Olympus until she is old enough to go to the Hunt, being a clear sighted mortal. I will not have her going to that Camp. I, on the other hand, shall travel the world and save demigods and bring them to either camps or the hunt should they accept it."

"Always the selfless one aren't you? Nevertheless, your wish shall be granted. Now, on to some important business. Perseus, I want you to listen, and listen hard, for I shall not repeat myself. We all gods, myself included, believe that you have done too much to go unnoticed and unrewarded. We offer you Godhood once again. Should you deny, we will have to send you into the mortal world to start your new life."

I had no hesitation,"I accept." My Father smiled at me.

All the gods shot beams at me and..........pain. Mindless, endless torture. There was no other way to describe it. It was worth it in the end though. When it stopped, I felt like I could crush a mountain. I look at the Gods to see them smiling, while the Godesses were blushing and hiding their faces. Even Artemis had a slight blush!

"Welcome, Perseus, to Godhoo-" Zeus started.

"Not exactly Zeus." A raspy voice said.

"Atropos?"Zeus called.

A shadowy black portal opened behind Zeus' throne. The Three Fates stepped through.

"Perseus is no God." Atropos said.

"Come forth Perseus." She beckoned.

I walked towards her. She grabbed my hand and cut a gash in my palm. I recoiled my hand and said "Hey!" Yet the gods were more focused on my palm."Son," Poseidon started," Your blood....." I looked down, expecting a mess of ichor or immortal blood, but what i saw shocked me.

My blood wasn't gold.

"How did this happen?" My Father screamed.

A cliffhanger! I truly am evil.

Don't worry.I will submit the next chappy by tomorrow. I know I said something like that last chapter as well, but I hit a classic case of writer's block due to school and couldn't remember my game plan for this story. But fear not! Cause now I remember! :-)
