I rolled my eyes as Megan, Giannah, and I walked into the detention room. I'd been in the room a couple times this year, but not that much to fully memorize it. It was a tiny room, with no wallpaper covering the rough, brick, walls. About 24 desks are put in four-by-six rows with scratched desks and green chairs. Hardwood flooring is littered with paper balls, dried gum, pencil tips, and whatever else there is. A black board is in the front of the room with one word wrote on it: DETENTION. We sit down, about 13, and take out our green slips and put them in the right hand corner of the desks. I sit in the 2nd row, second seat, between Megan and Giannah. The teacher, Mrs. Grangfield, brought a cardboard box into the room. We all groaned.
"Phones everybody, you'll get them after the hour is over," Mrs. Grangfield said. After I drop my phone in the box, I pick at my worn out nail polish until the long, boring hour is over.

"Emma, come on!" I yelled impatiently.
"What? I'm changing! I'll be right out!" Emma yelled back. I tapped my foot against the carpet. The bathroom door creaked and out came Emma. She was wearing a silky, white dress with ruffles at the bottom of the dress, which reached her knees. Emma pulled on her black cardigan and placed her curly, brown hair over her shoulders.
"Ready?" she asks, pulling her white sandals on.
"Let's go," I reply.
We hop in Emma's black Madza and drive to the meeting for the recent skipper earlier that morning.
"Move! Let's go! Drive!" Emma shouted, honking the horn. She looks in the mirror and switches lanes. A honking car passes by us, giving Emma the finger.
"Screw you too," Emma mutters. She starts to drive and finally we reach our destination.
"Come on we're late!" Emma says. We barge into the building and turned a couple corners and arrived at the meeting. We opened the door just as Nathan started talking.
