BACKSTORY

growing up, avia had a tough childhood. her parents, well, they were death eaters, hence, most of her childhood were spent being exposed to the dark arts.

being exposed to the dark arts at such a young age did not come easy; it was traumatising for her. she was loved by her parents of course, and she loved them dearly, but the manor did not feel like home due to the dark magic lingering around. therefore, she would spend most of her time either reading in her room or the manor's library, or outside playing quidditch. as such, she became knowledgeable and proficient in quidditch.

being the daughter of well-known death eaters made it difficult for her when she first entered hogwarts. she was placed in slytherin — although the sorting hat did debate on placing her in ravenclaw — which she was thankful for. see, she was bullied most of her years in hogwarts — even by seventh years — and it was mainly because of her family's association with death eaters and the dark arts. the only people that truly cared for her were her housemates, who understood what she was going through. needless to say, she spent her first few years in hogwarts either studying or reading. she of course joined the slytherin quidditch team in her second year, playing the position of a chaser. because of her childhood, she became one of the top chasers in hogwarts.

her first few years in hogwarts were going great, then everything started going downhill in her third year. her parents had passed that year — they had died in battle. this took a toll on her; even though they had caused her misery in her childhood, they were still her parents, and she loved them deeply. this had caused her to be more distant, and her grades started slipping. she refused to speak to anyone, not even her friends. during this time, she just locked herself in her dorm room, reading and writing. and the reason being was because students from the other houses would often tell her that her parents deserved it, which did not help her. the headmistress had allowed her to be excused from her classes, and that she was able to come back whenever she was ready. she did not attend her classes for nearly three months, however, she had no trouble catching up with her classes.

avia excels in her studies — her favourite subjects are potions, defense against the dark arts, ancient runes, and alchemy. she spends most of her time doing experimental work for these subjects, testing out different hypotheses and creating new potions. this was her way of coping with her past traumas. she aspires to be what muggles would call "scientists", but for the wizarding world.

she is now seventeen, a witch of age. she, and her siblings,  have managed to inherit their family's wealth, as well as the family's many estates.
