In which Y/n begins to notice the signs

Y/n woke up a few hours after the crash. The person was long gone. It seemed like they were sober enough to realize they messed up and then left. Y/n surprisingly didn't feel anything, nothing hurt. But despite that, they were still surprised that they were alive, the driver was driving seemingly recklessly.

Worried about Nanami, they decided to head home. When they got inside, there was no sign of him.

"Where'd he go? Maybe he went to look for me?" Y/n thought to themselves.
They were about to get their phone and call Nanami but unfortunately, it was crushed in the accident. All they could do now was wait.

Unfortunately, they couldn't wait. Y/n was far too exhausted despite not feeling pain so they decided to go to sleep instead. A few hours into the night, the door to the shared bedroom opened and in walked Nanami. Y/n was barely conscious but turned around, sending their husband a tired smile and getting a bit hurt when he ignored them.

That night was odd. It was a night out of many nights that Y/n felt cold for the first time. They felt almost nothing. Their husband facing away from them which was weird. He always had his arms wrapped around them. But understandably so, Y/n didn't make a big deal out of it. Maybe he had a bad day or maybe he was tired? Yeah, yeah that had to be it, hopefully. The next morning, Nanami was gone for work.

Y/n decided to go out for the day and take a walk. They left their home and walked toward the nearby park, passing buildings, a missing person poster, and people on the way. It felt nice, the environment and the fresh air, especially after what'd happened.

By the time they got back home, it was still relatively early and so they decided to do some cleaning. Y/n never got to it last night after what happened and falling asleep soon after.

Soon after Y/n finished cleaning and sorting everything out in the shared home, Nanami arrived. He unlocked the door and stepped in, looking around the room and for some reason, not acknowledging Y/n.
"Ke-" Before Y/n could catch his attention much less call his name, Nanami opened the door and left.

"What's up with him...?" Y/n furrowed their eyebrows.
"Maybe he's being held a bit later at work? It'd explain why he's coming home a little late and his mood, he never liked working overtime after all." Y/n chuckled to themselves.

They sighed.
"Oh well. Hopefully he gets better," Y/n looked at the ground, tears stinging their eyes.
"I hope."
