Carlos pulled into the parking lot of the police station and got out of the car. "Stay here." He said to Gabby who was still catching her breath. He sprinted through the doors and bolted to Jay's office. She wasn't there so he sighed a sigh of relief. As soon as he let his guard down the door slammed behind his and Jay walked in. "Late again Ramirez?" She asked. "I was all caught up in work and stuff." He said. "Yeah yeah. Who's your little friend?" Jay asked. "Excuse me?" Carlos asked, but then Jay pointed to the cracked door. Gabby was leaning against the door when Jay told her to have a seat. "Gabriella Brown. Your mother was as silent as fox, but I see you don't have that trait." Jay said. "I don't really like talking about her." Gabby said. "Very well. Gabriella, were you at site of the accident when it happened?" Jay asked. "No." Answered Gabby. "Where were you then?" "Taking a smoke break." Gabby admitted. "I see you have your mothers nicotine tooth though." Jay said with a smile. gabby stood up in anger. " I'll have you know that my.." Her words were stopped short because of the water fountain. It was shaking so violently that the faucet was coming off, but then everything got quiet. Suddenly, the faucet came flying off the fountain and hit Jay right in the stomach. "Uugghh!" She said as she collapsed to the ground. "Jay!" Carlos yelled and helped her into her chair. "Uhh, guys?" Gabby said. "What, Gabby?" Carlos asked. "The water is rising. Fast!" Gabby said. Carlos looked at his feet and saw that the water was up to his ankles. "Why isn't it draining out from under the door?" Jay asked. "Somethings blocking it!" Gabby yelled. Gabby ran across the room with a lamp in hand and smashed it on the window. She pounded so hard she broke the lamp. "Bulletproof." Jay said. "Now you tell me!" Gabby yelled. "What are we going to do? The waters at my thigh now!" Gabby yelled. Carlos grabbed a bookcase and leaned it on the wall. "What are you doing Ramirez?" Jay asked clutching her stomach. "Come on!" He said. He helped Jay up out of her chair and took her to the bookcase. "Go through the vent." He told her. She pulled the cover off and slid through. "Gabby, come on it's your turn." He said. "I...I can't." She muttered. "Why?" He yelled. The water was bubbling past their chests now. " I don't want to end up like her!" Gabby screamed. "Like who?" Carlos yelled. They both were holding onto the bookcase now. "Gabby if you don't go now you won't get the chance to end up like anyone!" He yelled. He saw a teardrop fall from her eye as she went through the vent. Carlos climbed up into the vent, but he couldn't slide through. His shoelace was caught on the cover of the vent.
