*Scott's POV*

I hear a door slam.

I sigh in frustration and put my head in my hands.

Is it my fault?

It's my fault.

But Mitch knows he can sing.

He knows how important he is to us.

But he's depressed.

After a few seconds of silence, I put my head to the door.

I hear a thump.

The same thump I heard when Kirstie passed out.

Had Mitch...?

I knock on the door.

"Mitch?"

Though he can't really respond, it's quiet.

I call the others over and start panicking.

"Mitch! MITCH ANSWER ME!" I pound on the door.

I try to open it.

It's locked.

Mitch has the key.

I quickly rush to find where we'd kept the spare key.

I find it under a couch cushion and unlock the door as fast as I can.

Pills.

Mitch on the floor.

Unresponsive.

I scream for someone to call 911 and we pull over in a parking lot.

I check for a pulse.

He's alive, barely.

I start sobbing and grab hold of my best friend's hand.

"Please, Mitch. I'm sorry. Please hang on for us. We're gonna be home tomorrow. I love you, please."

Someone says that an ambulance is on the way and I bring Mitch's head in my lap.

His pulse is getting weaker.

Kevin comes in the room. "How is he doing?"

"HE'S DYING KEVIN!" I lose control.

"No, Scott. He's not dying. He's passed out." Kevin tries to calm me down, but fails miserably.

"HE'S UNRESPONSIVE!"

"Scott, I'm gonna need you to calm down or you're gonna have to leave the room."

I just start crying harder.

I stay there with my hand on Mitch's chest until a paramedic forces me off the bus.

I'm escorted outside, where I just freak out more.

I'm mad and sad and freaking out all at the same time.

It's not fun.

The ambulance takes Mitch away, yet again, and leaves us standing there on the pavement.

"Guys, come on. We have to follow them." Gen tells us.

We get on the bus and go to the hospital.

Again.

We get there, y'know, find his room.

His nurse walks out with a worried look on her face.

"Mitch is very unstable at the moment. It seems that he took the limit on sleeping pills but has already had an overdose of painkillers today. He may be here about a week. He was very close to death when the medics arrived. I'd call it a miracle that they got to him in time. I'll keep you updated."
