"Um hey I'd uh like to apply for the job?" The woman looked me up and down before handing me a form. "Here, you can go fill it out over there." She pointed at one of the tables. I took a seat and started on the form. "Geez why do they need to know my address, talk about creepy." I finished the sheet and handed it back to her. "We'll call you back in a few days to let you know whether you got the job or not." I nodded and walked out of the shop.
3 days later
I yawned and checked the clock, 7:00? Talk about early. "1 New Message from ***-***-****" I walked over to the phone and played the message. "Qtaro uh, Burger..berg? You got the job, you start next week." "How do they always manage to mess up my last name." I muttered. I walked over to the fridge to get breakfast. "Geez there's nothin in here." I sighed and began writing a shopping list. I got dressed and brushed my teeth. "Mom, I'm going to go get groceries!" I yelled grabbing my shoes and heading out the door. "Alright milk, bread, beans, ground beef, and I think eggs are on sale today so i'll grab those.
I loaded up my shopping cart and as I was about to check out I looked over my list. "Ah crap I forgot eggs!" I groaned and turned around towards the dairy section. "Why are these all expensive why does she even need these?!"I said looking over the eggs. "Excuse, me I believe we met the other day?" I turned around to see Kai. "Oh uh yea Kai Satou right?" "Just Kai is fine." he said "All right 'Just Kai' do you happen to know what eggs are good to buy I think my mom wanted a certain kind but I can't remember.." His face seemed to light up and he said "I would say cageless brown eggs are the best for cooking with." I smiled and picked up the eggs. "Geez, thanks!" "My pleasure, you see I have been cooking since I was young, I would say it's a hobby of mine." "That's really cool!" "Perhaps you could come over to my house on day and I can cook." I grabbed a piece of paper and a pen from my wallet and wrote my phone number. "Well I gotta go! Call me anytime!" I waved to him and went to check out. "All right your total is $43.28, but i'll give you a best friend discount!" Joe said and bagged my things.
