Stitches and Waking up

( May's POV)

" May, who is he?" Abby says me as I became more tired by the minute.

" He saved me from some Scars," I answered her.

Owen then spoke up, " Let's get you inside".

They more aside and Higgs moves forward, Mel went ahead of him and said," follow me".

( Higgs POV )

  May was passing out in my arms again. Well, she did lose a lot of blood. That was when we came to an operating room.

" Where do you want me to set her?" I asked the young, pregnant woman I was following.

" Set her on this metal table," She says to me. I nod my head and I place her, very gently on the table and I looked behind me to see Abby and Owen standing there looking suspicious and worried at the same time.

" I'm a Scar," I told them, getting to my point very fast.

" But I don't believe in the same things the Scars in, which is why I don't have scars on my face like the others," I said to them, and when I looked at Owens hand, I saw that he was gripping his gun tighter.

" What happened?" Abby asked me, coming tords me alittle.

  " May was ambushed by some of the Seraphites and they strung her up. The older woman that was with me, buried a knife in her side, and I killed the other Scar behind May, the woman had then called me a traitor, and then I killed her. Once they were killed I cut May down and cut off the ropes that were on her wrist and then on our way here she passed out once,I guess because of the pain and blood loss," I explained to them as Mel was working on May.

" Guys I need to clean the wound out, but she's going to wake up. I need your help," Mel said to us as we looked at her.

" I'll take her arms, you two take her feet," I said to Abby and Owen. They muttered an 'ok' and I looked at Mel, giving her the ok. Mel grabbed the alcohol and pored it on May. As if it was an instinct May woke up and tried to turn away from the pain.

" May, its ok. Your safe. Your ok," I said to her very quietly, so only she could hear me.

" Higgs," She said weakly.

" Hey," I said to her, as she grabbed my hand.

" Can you stay here?" She asks me taking a hitched breath.

" Of course I'll stay here with you, I'm not leaving you alone," I say to May as Mel finally got done.

" Ok, I'm going to stitch her up," She said to us.

After five minutes Mel got done patching May up we walked out of the room, where we can go a hallway to take a break.

" So what's her story?" I asked Abby.

" What do you mean?" She asked back rubbing her hands together.

" You two seem really close to her. How did you meet May?" I asked clarifing my question.

" She was 13 when Owen and I met May, her older sister Ellie was immune to the fungel infection that was turning other people. And she arrived with her sister and a smuggler named Joel, when they got to the hospital where we where stationed at Owen and I were ordered to watch May. Then when Joel got Ellie out of there, he forgot about May, and we had to take care of May. Owen taught her how to fight hand-to-hand combat, while I taught her how to fire a gun," Abby said to me.

" Why did Joel forget about May?" I asked Abby.

" We don't know," Owen answered.

-Four hours later-

May was still unconscious. We were all worried, especially Abby and Owen. Then we heard a noise. For the operating room where May was. I looked at Abby, hoping for a approval from her. She nodded and I stud up as and walked to the door. Putting my hand on the door handle, I took a moment to think about what I was going to say, then I opened the door. Walking in the room, I see that Mays head was turned tords me. I walk tords her and I pull up a chair, then sitting down and grabbing her hand and kissing it.

" Hey," she said to me smiling.

" Hey back," I said smiling back.

" What happened?" May asked me.

" The Scars almost killed you, then I saved you, you passed out in my arms twice. Then we got here and you had surgery," I explained to May.

" Thank you," May said to me.

" Your welcome," I said back to her kissing her cheek.

We stayed silent for a minute and then she spoke up.

" I love you, Higgs," She said to me.

" I love you too, May," I said back to her and I kissed May on the lips and she kissed back, smiling as we pulled apart.
