"Where's Miss Zena? It's almost time for recess," Sam asked, rather bored. "Though I don't mind missing English, to be honest."
"Me too," the other boys nodded in agreement.
Nicola facepalmed. "You're only saying that because you were afraid I'd convince Miss Marya to let us do a journal."
"Can you blame them?" Qasim sniggered. Narjes just rolled her eyes.
"Hey, Ali, remember that journal you wrote?" Mohammed turned to Ali. Ali sighed.
"I told you already I didn't mean it!"
Qasim snickered. "Remember the clown-"
"Keep that up and Ali may just get akumatized," Nicola clapped sarcastically. Narjes blinked and closed her eyes, choosing to ignore the reference to her most hated show.
"Very funny," Mohammed drawled back, rolling his eyes. "Why do you even watch Miraculous, anyway?"
Nicola huffed indignantly, having half a mind to delve into an explanation as to why-from explaining the dynamic of the drama, how it was funny, etc.
"For your information, before you go on about how it's a kids' show, do your research on season two and three, and ask yourself this-why would a kids' show show real school problems, talk about lies, frame of expulsion, a guy obsessed with getting his-"
Before she could finish, however, the lights went out suddenly, the blinds were pulled down, the door was slammed shut, making the room pitch black. It seemed that the lights in the halls had gone out too, leaving the class standing in the dark.
"The electricity is my new best friend," Mohammed declared loudly. Nicola snorted.
"Drama queen," she muttered under her breath. "And anyways-is no one going to question how the heck the blinds and door just closed?"
Emma, who was closest to the door, looked just as confused as them.
"I didn't do anything, I swear!" she exclaimed.
"Well it's not like the light switch turned itself off," Mohammed pointed out.
"Ok, say Emma really turned off the lights-what are the chances that the power would go out at the same time? That the door and blinds would magically close?" Nicola crossed her arms and sighed.
"I'll go look for a teacher," Ali said before going to the door, which surprisingly opened. The hallways were nearly pitch dark, which made Ali hesitate a bit.
"I'll come too," Nicola walked out the door.
Suddenly an ear shattering scream filled their ears.

"WHAT THE HECK, WHY IS IT FLOATING?!"
"TELL ME THAT YOU DID THAT, LILY!"
"What is wrong with them?" Sam turned to Qasim, back in the 7/8 room. Qasim shrugged, though that wasn't visible in the darkness.
"Maybe it was a ghost!"
"That reminds me...It chapter two had-"
"GUYS, SHUT UP, I HEAR SCREAMING!" Ali snapped from the hallway.
"Ali, calm down, it's probably a bug too-"
"THE CHAIRS ARE FLOATING, I REPEAT, THE CHAIRS ARE FLOATING!"
The entire class of grade five and six came tearing down the hallway, some accidentally collided into Nicola because they could barely see in the darkness.
