Sanji grumbled as he unlocked his apartment door. He can't believe his luck, or the lack of it. Not only was the work day horrible, he had a short day at work but it was bad. Almost every customer was an asshole, two waiters quit today so he had to fill in for them both. Zeff was also very grumpy, more so than usual. But he was able to get through with it as he had a date in mind he was going to. His friends set up a blind date for him so he was excited for it.

He didn't think the date was going to be bad either. Of course it was awkward at first, they knew nothing of each other, they only have mutual friends. Sanji thought she was beautiful but what woman isn't? He found her cute with her awkwardness but it didn't get better. Obviously they should get to know each other so what should they do? Ask each other questions, but she was quiet so Sanji thought he'd be a gentleman and start first. He ask more about her and the worse is that instead of getting more comfortable with him she stayed with answering questions with one word. Most of the date was him asking her questions, and he would like it if she asked him questions back or kept the conversation going. Nope. When the date got near the end he got the hint she was just not interested and that hurt.

Sanji fell hard on his couch. This was not a good day and he wanted it to hurry and end. From a tired day at work to a bad blind date he was tired but if he wants to sleep he needs to get up and get changed into his pajamas and go into his room.

Sanji slowly sits up on his couch. He turns his head to the side and stares at his piano. It's not his piano that's making the noise. If it's not his piano then it must be his neighbors. Sanji lays on his back, resting his head back as he closes his eyes. He listens to the melody that his neighbor is playing. It's slow but it's good.

The blonde sat there listening to the song. So maybe the day wasn't that bad if he could listen to this song and found himself really enjoying it.

He didn't know how long he sat there listening to that song but he sat through it all. When he opened his eyes he sat up straight taking a deep breath. He wiped his eyes, he didn't even know he was crying. But that song was really good and it hit him. As he got up and went to his room to change into his night clothes to go to bed he thought about the song. It was so sad but he felt he understood the song.

The blonde didn't know why but he was hooked on the song his neighbor played. That song was on his mind the whole day. It was the only thing they can think of, he forgot almost everything of the day previous but the song played on the piano. He wanted to listen to the song again.

That day he came home more early than normal, but he's came home the same time he did last night. It was a short day at work for him so here he is at home. He slips off his coat and hang it, set his keys down on the small bowl of his near the door. Then he slips his shoes off and walks into his apartment as he takes the buttons off his blazer, he neatly sets it on the back of his couch then goes into the kitchen as he rolls his sleeves up. He needs to start on dinner for the night. Sanji goes around as he gets the pots and pans out planning in his head what he should make for dinner.

Sanji pauses as he hears the sound of a piano. He goes to sit down to listen to it. The song was still sad but it was good. It felt like he needed a good cry and he didn't mind.

After two weeks of this he's learned something. His neighbor plays the piano at the same time everyday. He really liked it, he felt slightly happy listening to the piano as he made dinner for himself. The songs played are usually sad songs but he's happy to listen to it while he's cooking but he gets sad when they finish the song.

It's sad that they don't play on the weekend. Last week on the weekend he was getting ready to cook, expecting to listen to music and cook but nothing happened. So it's Sunday and he's sad that he won't get to listen to the neighbors music. The soft, sweet but melancholy tune of his neighbors songs always make his day, makes him happy. He walked out of the kitchen to his piano, he sits down at it as he lets his soup simmer. He wants to listen to the song but knows he won't get it. He looks over at the clock to see the time, if it was the weekday he would have already started playing his music. He looks at his closed piano. Sanji bit his lip, he hadn't touched or played the piano in years.
