chris tossed his black north face bookbag into the backseat of his car, slamming the door and opening the drivers side and getting in, also slamming the door.
after weeks of non stop fighting with his girlfriend, gaia, they had finally ended their relationship. chris was angry, his chest felt tight with anger and his heart was beating too fast.
not only had he lost his three year relationship with his girlfriend, but now he had also been kicked out of his home. all his friends were in pennsylvania, so he couldn't even crash at their house until he found his own place. he would simply have to sleep in his car until he found some place to live. technically he could stay in a hotel, but he would rather save up the money that he would eventually need for rent.
chris started his car, taking a few deep breaths to try and compose himself before driving. the last thing he needed was to get in a car accident just because he was too mad to pay attention to the road.

ricky finished nailing his neon green and black sign to the electricity pole, stepping back to look at it and make sure it was secure enough.
on his sign he had put 'roommate needed', along with his phone number so that if anyone was interested they could contact him directly. he knew it wasn't the best idea, but he was desperate for a roommate. he had moved out the day he turned eighteen, and after a couple months of living by himself he was already struggling to pay rent, and getting a roommate to spilt the bill with was his only option, bedsides being evicted.
ricky got back into his car, going back to his apartment to wait for any calls. he had put up several signs around his area, so he was quite hopeful for a response.
the small boy walked up the three flights of stairs an unlocked his door, setting down his bag on his little table beside the door. ricky went to his bedroom, flopping face first onto his bed and then turned over to look at his phone. part of him knew to not expect a phone call so soon after he had put up his signs, but he was so desperate for a roommate.

chris woke up the next morning, already in a bad mood from sleeping all night in his car. he was a very tall man, and his car didn't allow for enough leg room for him. he scowled and sat up, stretching as much as he could before sliding over to the drivers side, immediately heading to starbucks for a coffee.
chris ordered, a venti coffee, black, and waited to pay. his body was sore and he was tired form a restless night. after he got his much needed caffeine, he drove off, to no where in particular, but just to drive around while he was drinking his morning coffee.
he stopped at a red light, looking over and seeing a neon green sign that said 'roommate needed' with a phone number. chris quickly snapped a picture of it, drove into the parking lot of a seven eleven to call the number. this was exactly what he needed.
chris dialed the number, putting the phone on speaker and waiting for the person on the other end of the call to pick up.
"hello?" a sleepy voice answered.
"hi, i'm calling about the roommate? is that still available?" chris asked, running a hand though his black hair.
"yeah! we're you interested?"
"obviously or else i wouldn't have called." chris snapped.
"oh. okay well i'm charging three hundred and fifty a month, i can text you the address if you'd like to come see the place before you decide."
"okay. what time?" chris asked.
"um, is thirty minutes okay?"
"sure. see you then." chris answered and hung up.
