(Old) Six

"Wait, what's going on?" Water asks, worry apparent in her eyes.

"Our dad is being held, hostage." Cole snarls.

"Cole." I whimper with pleading eyes.

"No." He snarls at me with angered determined eyes.

"But-"

"Infinity, I said no."

Tears flood my eyes and I cross my arms, looking away.

"Okay, someone fill us in." Energy calmly states.

"Infinity's ex has taken our father hostage. He's obsessed with her and wants to lock her up like a pet. He'll only let him go if he gets her, which is why she's not going." Cole explains, turning to look at me.

"This is my mess! My fault! Let me fix it!" I shout at him.

"And give him what he wants?! No way in hell!" Cole shouts back.

Cole's team quickly steps in trying to calm the two of us down. I click a button on one of my bracelets and it slowly beeps before speeding up. I run from Cole towards a tree.

"Infinity!" He shouts just as one of Daphnie's portals appears next to me.

She fazes through and looks at me in confusion.

"Take me to my dad, please. It's an emergency." I plead.

She hesitates but nods nonetheless.

"Infinity!" Cole shouts with wide worry-filled eyes as I disappear through the portal.

"He's going to kill you when he sees you," Daphnie tells me.

"I know, but that's a risk I'm willing to take," I tell her.

The portal opens a few houses down from mine and I thank Daphnie. She teleports away without question and I quickly run until I reach the broken handle of the front door.

"Dad." I breathe, quietly pushing the door open.

I look around only to see nothing, so I slowly creep around, nearing the living room.

"Stop resisting. You're not getting out of that." The familiar voice of my ex rings out.

I peek around the corner to see my dad glaring hard at him as he struggles to break free from his restraints. It looks like he also has a rag tied around his mouth.

Dad... I'm so sorry.

I begin thinking of plans and strategies, but end up empty-handed.

I deserve this. I've caused all these messes and I need to pay somehow. I can't keep letting those around me get hurt because of my stupid decisions.

Just as I think of giving myself up, I notice a large rock next to my foot.

He must've used this to break the doorknob.

I pick up the rock and throw it to the other side of the room.

"What the fuck?" My ex hisses walking over to the noise.

I creep around and behind my dad, staying out of sight. My dad squirms when he feels my hands untying his restraints.

"Shh, dad, it's me," I whisper and his eyes widen as he squirms more.

Just as I remove the gag from his mouth he hisses at me in a low voice.

"You shouldn't have come."

"I couldn't just leave you here with him. He would've hurt you." I whisper back.
