Chapter One

It was a bright morning in the little city of hers. The birds were chirping happily and the couples were chatting eagerly of their plans for the week.

And then there was she

The girl who didn't want much attention, yet when she got it...how could she refuse the jump in confidence? It may be feigned, but it got her out of situations, leaving a euphoric feeling.

It was the last year of highschool and she was freshly 18. Exactly what Phantom wanted.

He hadn't gone for one so young in a while, but one day as he was passing by he found such determination in this...soul.

What he didn't know was that there was sorrow much more powerful than her dreams.

And that's when she trapped him in his own cage.

All he could see was the darkness in her soul, sprouting little by little, yet it yourned.

That was the beacon that drew him to her.

She was just a girl who longed for more.

Well, today was the day for auditions. And this girl, wanted to try out. She had a heart for singing and acting so that's what she would try for.

But it all went very wrong.

Because of course there were those who were more talented and had more confidence.

The famous and cool kids.

And she left the audition rooms with defeat.

With her head hung low, she confided to the library. She didn't know why, but it was like eyes were watching her since she woke up that morning.

And the library seemed to be a more solitary place where she could hide behind bookshelves.

Yeah, smart. Be alone in a cold library away from all of the embarrassment.

And he was watching her.

Although for much longer.

The way she hid away from the laughs. It just made him giggle like a little kid.

She walked though the old wooden doors of the library entering the dimmed room filled with high bookshelves and a librarian...somewhere??

Then she heard a call but it wasn't verbal. And this force, called her to the deeper halls of the book museum.

And her eyes beheld an illuminated book in the corner of the shelf. Its aura was red and dark hints of purple. As she approached the book the light behind her began to dim even more and a sinister smile appeared behind the shadows, expecting her to do exactly what he wanted.

She slowly touched the cover of the book.

"The the Book of Phantom."

At first she was hesitant, but the title was just so...captivating.

Like, who in world is even named Phantom?

She scoffs before feeling the cover once more and opens the first page.

Intricate symbols were in black ink, surrounding an old calligraphical dedication page.

"From your Sunshine"

"Okayyyy...?" She sniffles before turning the next page.

At first it was unintelligible handwriting, but the longer she focussed on the words, the more familiar they came to her and suddenly she was able to read everything with ease.
