Chapter two

She looks through the book in curiosity.

The words were written in a unintelligible calligraphy that seemed to be in a Latin-ish, demonic kind of cultic language. But as she focused more on the words, they became as normal English letters to her and she was able to read it clearly.

As she flipped through, her hands just seemed to bring her to a page called "The Siren" On it had a little note that explained how to sing as if you were the mythical creature that lured sailors to their death with their majestic voices.

First you'd have to say it in a dark room illuminated by only the moonlight then recite a few words that were still in that weird language.

And that was it.

Well she didn't totally believe that it would do anything and scoffed as she opened her curtains. The outside world indeed was illuminated by the ironically full moon.

She opens her window to let a little draft in, watching for a few moments as the curtains waved from the late night breeze.

Then she let her attention be taken to the book and she sat under the moonlight. With the book in her hands she lets out a sigh and begins the incantation.

She was kind of hoping to feel something, maybe warmth?

But there was nothing.

So she looked to the left and right and let out a squeak.

"That does not sound like a siren..." She shrugs "I knew this was nonsense.

She looks down at the book. There was something else under the incantation that wasn't there before???

"What? There was totally nothing there last time I checked."

The Ballad of Phantom it said.

"I suppose I'll summon a demon? Pfft. I need sleep."

She gets into the shower and turns the water to spray all over her body. It was relaxing, and made her forget everything that happened that day. And due to habit, she begins to sing quietly to herself.

She wasn't even paying attention to what she was singing. Almost like her voice took over for her.

And by the time she realized that she had no idea what she was even singing, she was already done and blow drying her hair.

Then she realized it was from the book.

She quickly forsakes drying her hair and runs to the book.

"Yes...I was singing this without even knowing it."

She carefully closes the book. Suddenly feeling eyes behind her.

But she knew there was no one there. She closes the blinds and jumps into her bed.

Pulling out her phone she searches up the book of Phantom. No search results...

...She falls asleep.

In her dreams she's floating in a void. Whispers cloud the inside of her ears.

Then suddenly she's standing in front of a fireplace. A male figure standing in between the two, facing the burning embers in the pit.

The atmosphere was chilly even though the fireplace was roaring--screaming of a dreaded event that would soon overcome the very lifetime she held dear.

She could tell the figure was taller than her from the shadow he oddly cast onto her. As she made a motion to move forward she was suddenly thrust back to an impact of a concrete wall.
