I woke up the next morning with a side splitting headache, typical.
I took an aspirin before trotting down the stairs to see my parents by the island in the kitchen
‘Any luck champ?’ said dad, carefully observing how I was taking everything, with had become a habit of everyone nowadays.
‘Another address, an old cemetery on the outskirts of town on Friday’ I looked at both of them and sat down.
‘This is just awful’ mom said with barely a whisper. It touched me to see how my parents cared for Elaine like their own daughter, glad they knew how serious we were.
It was Monday and they had to go to work, they both worked at a Pharmacy they set up downtown, they also had factories set up in the suburbia of Portland, my brothers were in school and I took a break from the later to deal with my current dilemma.
The night she was taken I was with her, we were on a date after months and months of being apart and me coming back from my sophomore year in college, we went out.
We missed each other so much, we were at the park just talking. I realized that one of the most attractive qualities she had aside from her phenomenal looks was that she was an excellent listener, she would listen to me go on for hours and hours about my love for soccer, mixed martial arts and chocolate and would urge me on to keep talking. She wasn’t really into blabbing anything she thought, she was a decisive thinker but also a fun loving wacko when she wanted to be… the best kisser on the planet, damn I just wish I had her in my arms right now to kiss her and tell her how sorry I was for ever leaving her side to go bring the car over, we could have just walked there together and sorry that I wasn’t able to protect her from them.
God this is all my fault.
I called the detective whether he had found any leads on why Elaine’s captor would want us to meet him at the location he referred to in his bloody clue, he said he had nothing yet, ever since Elaine was taken Ruthless had never reached out to ask for a ransom or anything, which made us fear all the more for Elaine’s safety.
Me and my parents had nearly searched all over this goddamn state searching for leads or even if she was the only one abducted …
I just bloody wanted my girl back.
We were all tired but we couldn’t stop looking for her, never in a billion years.
