Not Everything Is As It Seems.

The First Day

Hadrian's POV:

Last night we had spent roughly 6 hours talking, only calling quits at nearing 2am. I woke up embraced in Dray's arms with my head nuzzled into his chest. He was lightly snoring with his chest rising up and down in a calming rhythm. If I listened close enough, I could hear the sound of my parents conversing a few rooms over. It was a muffled sound and I could barely make out the words they were saying. Listening carefully I could hear them say something about what they were doing today while my friends and I were out visiting the zoo.

Waiting for Draco to wake up wasn't as boring or as long as I had thought it would be. He woke up an hour after I had and I could finally move. While Draco fully woke up, I headed towards the bathroom for a warm shower. Switching the shower onto a hot temperature, I stripped of my PJs and entered the shower. Feeling the water run down through my hair and back, I grabbed my shampoo. While applying the shampoo, I heard the bathroom door open and Draco shuffled in. As I was finishing off in the shower, Draco had finished his cleaning routine and had started sorting out his hair.

After Draco and I had left the bathroom, we had headed into the wardrobe to get changed. I choose to wear some black ripped jeans, a simple black t-shirt, paired with a green flannel and some dark green Doc Martens. I decided to wear a few necklaces and bracelets to complete the look and my some sunglasses. Draco however, wore, grey skinny jeans, with a short sleeved red shirt and some black combat boots. He had a beanie on and was also wearing his sun glasses, a necklace and a few rings.

Once we were dressed, we headed downstairs for breakfast. We had a range of fruits, pancakes and other cooked foods, ranging from sausages, bacon and eggs to waffles and French toast. While Draco and I were getting seated, we heard the door bell go off. Knowing that whoever it was at the door would be sorted by the house elves and the adults within the house. Without me realizing, Draco had not only dished out some food for him, but had started filling my plate.

'What's the plan for the rest of the week, Dray?' I asked while cutting into a chocolate chip pancake. 'I have some ideas on what we could do, but I'm not too sure on what we can do. This intrigued me as I had no idea what Draco had planned and I wanted to know. Draco had said before we left Hogwarts that the plans for summer would be sorted by him and I would have to wait. The only reason I knew we were going to the zoo today was because he accidently let it slip while talking to Pansy and Blaise.

Our conversation flowed from there, with our friends joining in when they arrived. After breakfast, we all started to get our things together. We were packing bags with some water bottles and some snacks. We left soon after, using the floo network to get to London.

Once we arrived at London Zoo, we headed in after paying. I was really excited as I had only ever been to the zoo once before and that ended with me being locked in my 'room' for nearly a week with no food. I wanted to spend the day having fun with my friends and my mate.

Draco's POV:

We had only just got to the zoo, and I could already tell Hadrian was excited. He looked like he was about to start jumping. His eyes were gleaming and he was smiling. The group consisting of Luna, Neville, the Weasley Twins, Pansy and Blaise, had started moving towards a quiet corner in order to decide what we were going to do.

We spoke for 5 minutes, before deciding to split up and meet back up at 12 for dinner. As soon as this was decided, Hadrian grabbed my hand and dragged me away towards what appeared to be the hippo enclosure. He looked so happy and I couldn't help but smile at him.

For the next two hours, Hadrian dragged me around the zoo looking at all the animals. I was happy that Hadrian was finally having fun. He wasn't being abused and didn't have all the pressure weighing him down.

It was nearing 12, so we started back towards the meeting point, were we were going to eat. Hadrian was happily talking to Neville and Luna about his morning while I was sat listening to the twins and pansy talk about what they were doing next. Blaise was stuffing his face with his chips and chicken nuggets. Hadrian and I had ordered a simple sweet chilli chicken wrap with salad for our dinner, while Luna and Pansy had hot dogs. The twins and Neville had bought cheese burgers with chips.

After eating, we all decided to stay together and finish walking around the zoo, before going to the gift store. While in the gift store I noticed Hadrian was looking at a certain hippo plush, so while he wasn't looking, I went ahead and bought it for him. I left the gift shop to buy us both an ice cream each, while Hadrian bought what he wanted.

Once I saw him leaving the shop, I noticed he had a bag but also had a sad look on his face. I walked up to him and handed him his ice cream. We waited for everyone else while eating our ice creams. 10 minutes later we were all ready to leave, so we headed out of the zoo to the floo system, where we all headed back to Malfoy Manor.

------Time Skip-------

We had just finished our tea and Hadrian was heading up to our room to have a bath. He had looked disheartened since we left the zoo earlier and I wanted to know why. So while Hadrian was in the bath, I went into our room to set up the present I had bought him. He was in the bath for 30 minutes before coming out in his PJs. His eyes immediately went to the hippo plush sat on the bed and I could tell he was shocked.

He came running at me and engulfed me in a hug. I moved us to the bed and lay us down so we could sleep. We moved a little into a comfortable position before getting ready to sleep. Today was fun, but tomorrow would be better. Hadrian was going to have the summer he deserved with people who loved him, and I was going to make sure he knew he was wanted and loved.

I would like to apologies for the lack of updates lately, I haven't had much free time and have had writers block. Uploads will be slow again as I have work to do at home and barely have time to spend writing.
