Maddie reached out with her free hand to the plump berries, the summer sun shining on her face.
Everything was peaceful..she began to the next berry, but accidentally interlocked hands with someone."I am so sorry-..here, you can have the strawberry.", Maddie smiled at the girl. The girl smiled softly, trying to avoid eye contact.
Maddie noticed the girl's social anxiety and wanted to make a effort to put her at ease, "I'm Maddie."
The girl forced herself to catch eyes with Maddie, "Emily." Maddie cocked her head and smiled, "That's a very pretty name." Emily nodded her thanks.Maddie studied Emily for a second. Silky caramel hair..sparkling blue eyes...pretty.
"You are really pretty, y'know that?", Maddie blurted out, shocked at first, then grew comfortable with her words. Emily's face turned the shade of the strawberries."Thanks. You are prettier though..", Emily smiled, comfortably looking at Maddie.
"Not true.", Maddie playfully shoved Emily. Emily smirked and rolled her eyes.
"I'm going to go get a coffee, want to come?", Emily jabbed her thumb in the coffeehouse's direction.
Maddie nodded and they walked to the coffeehouse...(Annnnnd Emily is yelling at me to finish it so this chapter is gonna be short so comment your critiques!)
