"Y/N ... COME HERE, IT'S OKAY."

Shoto held his arms out to the crying ghost, before remembering once again that she didn't have a corporeal form. Sometimes, when you cared for someone so much, it was hard to forgot they weren't "real", at least not in some senses.

Instead, he slid down the wall and patted the ground, letting her come to him when she was ready and sit next to him.

"It's okay," he hushed her, murmuring quietly in what he hoped was a comforting way, reaching out for her but never touching, hovering a hairbreadth away from her so he wouldn't go through her flickering image. "I promise, it's okay."

"He was there," Y/N spoke, her voice barely reaching a volume above a whisper, shaking. "It was just like ... I was dying all over again."

Shoto's heart broke to hear the words, the ones he'd so specifically feared. "Don't worry. I-it's okay."

It's okay, it's okay, it's okay. Shoto couldn't stop saying the words, over and over, like a broken cassette tape, knowing they wouldn't be enough despite the fact they were all he could say, to reassure her.

"I'm sorry." He found himself speaking his thoughts. "I'm sorry that's all I can say - all I can do."

"Sho ..." Y/N wiped her cheeks, turning to him and somehow mustering a weak smile. "Please. You- you do everything for me. You mean everything to me."
