Teach Me

McKaila POV

After me and J had finished watching the volleyball team practice we saw a flyer that said they needed a new team manager, we decided that we wanted to go find the team advisor and ask if the two of us could fill that role, yeah we know nothing about volleyball but who could pass up the opportunity to be around all those boys for hours a day.

" You know they are going to expect us to know a little about volleyball right?" I said and looked over at J who was on her phone looking up about the sport.

" DUH that's why I'm looking it up. It'll be easy don't worry." she said in a semi convincing tone

I laughed and shook my head " we are screwed"

We continued to walk, both of us reading up about the basics of volleyball, suddenly we bumped into someone in front of us. "Shit sorry" I heard a deep voice say, i looked up from my phone and blushed instantly, backing away

" oh no it's fine, we weren't paying attention, right" I nudged J next to me trying to get her to say anything, I recognized the two boys from the volleyball practice we had snuck in to watch, one had a shaved head and was a bit taller than me, he was super attractive to me, the other was shorter with brown hair and a small piece of blonde hanging in the front, he was rubbing the back of his head nervously while looking at J

" A-a-hh y-yeah we're okay...." she said shyly as she quickly glanced up at him then back down at the floor

" Hey it's okay, we weren't looking either" the taller boy said towards me " Im Tanaka, where were you off to pretty ladyyy?" as the words left his mouth my cheeks turned a deep shade of red, was he talking to me, i thought to myself as i nervously laughed

" Oh- I'm Mckaila, nice to meet you, we were uh going to apply for a club, yeah a club" I tried to sound convincing, not wanting to embarrass myself.

" Oh sweet what club? Girls volleyball" the shorter male said looking over at me, he looked like he was beaming with excitement at the mention of volleyball

I burst out laughing and covered my face with my hands " Us? You are so funny, no no" I look over at J and I can see she wants to laugh which makes it harder for me to contain it myself " What club is it again J?"

"Hehe, oh um the boy's volleyball club." she said while hitting me in the side

" No way! You are going to ask to be the manager? We were just about to go around and ask, Oh i'm Nishinoya by the way, what's your name?" he said looking directly at J smiling, i briefly looked at her and then back up to Tanaka smiling, her dream boy I thought.

" I-I'm Jeannie..... Nice to meet you Nishinoya ..." she said in a low shy tone towards him, she smiled gentle at him but didn't keep eye contact.

"Wow two pretty girls are going to be our managers, how lucky are we" Tanaka said as he punched his friend in the arm, me and J just looked at each other in shook and then back at them "Come on let's go then, shouldn't waste time, we gotta introduce you to the rest of the team"

" The T-team?" Me and J said at the same time, not expecting it to be that fast, I could feel the nerves flood over me as Tanaka grabbed my arm and started to drag me towards the gym " Right now? We haven't even filled out the forms-" "We can deal with that later don't worry" he said in a confident one

I reached out and grabbed J to pull her with me " What are we gonna do?" I whisper to her and smile at Tanaka and Nishinoya.

"Wing it..I guess" she said shrugging and walking next to me
