Once upon a time, there lived one girl named Astrid. Astrid is a happy-going person. She's lovely, and she's friendly with everyone. She is a true beauty inside and out. Everyone loved her. Her family's wealth didn't make her arrogant. Instead, it made her generous and good. Sounds like a goody-two-shoes, ey?

She always helped around their house, though they have maids. You would call her a sweet and perfect girl. If I didn't know her flaws, I would've thought the same. The truth is, she's not as perfect as it seems. She is too good-hearted, that's why she's easy to take advantage of. Many fakes surrounded her, and when she had to face the reality, she was broke. She didn't change, though. She knows it's stupid to be overly kind, so she just tried to be more careful.

And she did. She became careful of her surroundings, and now, she's a successful businesswoman. Her business is going international, and she is able to cast successful celebrities to promote her brand. How nice, right? Her life is almost perfect, yet again. Everything that seems perfect is bound to get shattered and turn ugly. Always remember that. Just when happiness is finally hitting you, someone or something will take it away. You have to be careful, don't be stupid.

Astrid only loved one man. She started having small feelings towards him since they were younger, and those small feelings grew. They're now 24. Both are doing great in their jobs. Their parents have a strong bond and a strong business partnership as well. I could say their relationship is just something like an acquaintance. She wished it was something more. Oh, she could only dream of marrying him. Oh, what a coincidence, she didn't know her dream will come true.

Their parents planned an arranged marriage for them. She was happy, ecstasy rushing into her veins. She happily accepted it while Damien was rebelling about it.

"I-I'm going to get married to Damien?!"

"If you don't want to-"

"I would love that, mother and father!!!"

"Really?"

"Honey, haven't you been aware of how our daughter behaves around him?"

"Uh, no."

"Honey, seriously?"

"What? It's not my fault I'm bad at noticing stuff."

"That's why I had to confess first when you were the one who was supposed to do that."

"Well, I'm sorry?"

"Apology accepted, darling."

"D-Did Damien agree?"

"I'm sorry, sweetie. We haven't heard an update about it yet."

"Oh, it's okay, mother. I'm willing to wait."

Damien wasn't happy at all. He had a girlfriend and dreams for the both of them. He couldn't let his hard work go down the drain just like that.

"I can't accept this, mother! I'm in love with another girl! Is it that hard to understand?"

"Please, Damien..........."

"Mother..........."

"Why don't you try giving Astrid a chance to prove herself to you?"

"I would do that if I didn't love someone else. But..... right now, I am. Please, understand me."
