When we met, we were in there fourth grade. Of course, I met her. Back then I didn't talk as much. I mostly sat by myself and answered when I was called on.
We were outside and I accidentally ran into her playing a game. If anyone remembers playing a game where two people battle for life in rock paper scissors. If you lost, you sat down until the person you lost to got out. If you won, you continued to fight until you went out. The more people you got out, the greater chances of your survival were.
Anyway. I was turning to run after another player, and smashed right into her. She fell to the ground, and I reached d to help her. She smiled and grabbed to tag me. We tagged at the same time. We battled. We kept doing the same thing. Rock, then scissors, back to rock, some paper. Eventually, she won. Rock to scissors.
I was dejected. I slid to the ground. I saw others watching the red head intently. Waiting. They called for other people to get her out. But she just demolished the playing field.
We all watched as she took on the last standing player. So many people were yelling for the take down of her so that they could get up again. But she won that game too. And she took down all the players. No one could believe it, not even me. I'd never seen someone that good before. Even as a new game started, I just sat there. There was no way that she was the best.
All to soon we were going back into class. I'll admit, I was a little awed at her. The game was super hard to play, but she fucking demolished the field.
Little did I know, that this accidental meeting would spark I to a friendship.
