You walked with Shota down the same route you took to get to the bar the other night. You were anxious to see where he was taking you.
You heart hadn't stopped racing since he knocked on your door, and you were so excited to be on this date. You looked over at him, a slight smile graced his face. He looked back at you and your eyes met. Your face started to feel warm and you smiled. He took his hand out of his pocket and reached it out for you to grab, and you obliged.
You were now holding hands and he smiled at you. He broke the silence. "Are you ready?" His grip on your hand tightened.
"For what...?" You asked hesitant.
Shota let out a laugh. "For the surprise, you know, our date?"
"W-well obviously!" You stuttered, but you let out a small chuckle. "Of course I'm ready."
"Good." He smiled and you both turned the corner.
What you saw next was stunning. It was a festival. There were lanterns hanging in the trees and different booths set up with traditional Japanese foods and some of the booths had games as well. Your jaw dropped. You had been wanting to go to a festival like this since you moved to japan.
"So what do you think?" He smiled.
"I love it! This was such an amazing idea." You smiled.
He smiled back and you. "I wanted to show you more things about Japan, and what better way then to take you to a street festival?" He leaned over to you and kissed your cheek. "Let's go have some fun." He pulled you into the crowd and you walked through the street.
You saw a stand for dango and freaked out. "Oh my gosh Shota! I have always wanted to try dango! Can we get some?"
"Of course, anything you want." He smiled and you walked over to the stand, he went to pay and you stopped him.
"No it's okay I can get it!" You reached for your wallet and he put his hand on yours again.
"Absolutely not. This date is my treat." He handed the worker the money and then handed you the dango. "Go ahead, try it!"
You were nervous to try the new food, but you took a bite. It was very chewy and sweet. You smiled. "It's pretty good!" You continued to walk down the street and eventually finished the dango. You stopped at a couple booths with games and you had a really fun time with Shota.
Just when you thought it was over and it was time to head home, Shota lead you to a park where there were blankets set up in the grass. You both sat down and he put his arm around you. He smiled, "I thought it would be fun to watch the fireworks."
"Yeah absolutely!" You agreed. You leaned closer into him, and he put his other arm around you as well. He kissed the top of your head and your face heated up.
"Are you having a good time?" He held you a little tighter. His body was warm and comforting. You never wanted to leave his grasp.
"Yeah definitely! This has been the best date I've ever had!" You paused, "Well, to be honest. the only 'real' date I've been on..."
Shota let out a small chuckle. "What do you mean by real?"
"Well... guys have taken me on dates, but they have always ghosted me afterwards. None of them have led to relationships, and none of them have been this fun. They've all been like, kind of lame. It must just be a thing with guys from (C/O)."
"Well if it makes you feel better, this date just made me want more of you, so there is no way I'm going to ghost you." He held you tighter.
"Well good." You snuggled into him. "It may have only been a couple days, but I am hoping this will be a long time thing." After you said it, you realized exactly what you said and you felt your face get warm. "Oh I mean well, I um-"
