In Trouble (Naruto, Naruto Uzumaki)

I screwed up big this time. That was the one thought on my mind as I ran through the village. Ok, big was probably a major understatement. I'd just ruined my sensei's favorite book, and that is the worst possible thing you could do to him. The one rule about Hatsuru-Sensei: NEVER mess with his book.

I'd accidentally set it on fire during training. I'd been trying to master Fire Jutsus and one kinda went the wrong way.

Yeah, so I'm screwed if Hatsuru-Sensei catches me. Hence the reason I'm running from him and looking for a place to hide until he calms down.

I ducked into a hollowed-out tree that I used to hide in back when I had still been in the academy. It was my secret place. But this time, I wasn't alone in here.

"Hey watch it!" a very obnoxious and familiar voice said as I bumped into the stranger.

"This is my place!" I hissed at him. "Get out before you get me caught! Hatsuru-Sensei will kill me if he finds me!"

"Well, I've got Sakura trying to kill me!"

We argued back and forth for what seemed like forever. Neither Naruto nor I seemed to realize that we just kept getting louder as we went on.

"Fine!" I said at last. "You're lucky I love you. So you can have this stupid spot!"

"No you- Wait, What?!" he was shocked. Then I realized just what I'd said. I'd just told him my feelings for him without realizing it. Not only did I tell him I loved him, but I'd also given up my special place to him.

"I-I said that I like you. Now I need to go find another place to-" As I climbed out of the hollow tree, I found myself face to face with Hatsuru-Sensei and Sakura.

"Mai," my sensei said in a threatening tone. "You wouldn't be trying to run away from your punishment, would you?"

I flinched. He may be a total teddy bear, but when he was angry he was scary. Right now, he was super pissed. Yeah, terrifying is an extreme understatement.

"No sensei," I said weakly, letting him drag me off to whatever he had planned for me. Knowing him, I didn't really want to know what it could possibly be.
