Part 3: Memories Restored

~Fun Fact: I'm Not Dead! I'm sorry about the wait, but I'm glad to announce, part 3 of 'Being Human' is finally here! How will this short story end? Welp, you don't have to think that any longer! It's time to see the ending of 'Being Human'! Enjoy!~

Those words broke Amethyst down to tears. The short gem tightly wrapped her arms around Twilight's shoulders, quietly sobbing. Amethyst felt arms wrap around her waist as she looked up and saw a pair of loving icy blue eyes beating down on her.

"Jeez, I never knew you bottled that many tears, Amy."

Amethyst let out an audible gasp. Amy.. That was the nickname Twilight had given her. This is the first time she's said it as a human, so that means... 

"You're back!" Amethyst cried, embracing her girlfriend so tightly that they both fell over.

Steven watched from a distance as the two gems fell to the ground in a laughing-crying mess. He felt his heart melt at the sight. After a few joy filled moments, the couple got to their feet and began to walk back into the forest. Amethyst gave a side smile to Steven as they walked back to the temple.

The stars in the sky reflected off of Twilight's gem as they went back inside the temple, where Pearl, Garnet, Bismuth, and Peridot were waiting for them. Lapis was asleep on the sofa, softly snoring.

"Well? Did the plan work?" Peridot asked in her nasally voice.

Amethyst looked at all the hopeful faces that were set on her.

"She's back, baby!" the purple gem announced.

Everyone cheered and began hugging Twilight.

"Wait, now that I have my memories back, how do I get out of this form?" Twilight questioned. 

Everyone drew a blank, filling the room with silence. The quietness was abruptly interrupted by Steven running through the door, carrying a bright pink box.

 "I'm here guys." he panted, placing the box on the table.

Twilight turned to him. "Now that everyone is here, I just got an idea. But I don't think ya'll are gonna like it."

"You WHAT?!" Steven yelled, backing into the counter.

"I want you to shoot me with the laser light cannon again." Twilight said sternly.

 Amethyst looked to her with fearful eyes. "You can't be serious."

"I'm serious." she said blankly. 

Everyone was silent as they stared at the purple gem. 

"You aren't gonna change your mind, are you?" Steven asked, a look of exhaustion in his eyes.

Twilight simply shook her head. "Nope."

Steven sighed in defeat and gave a nod. "Fine. Let's go get the cannon."

~30 minutes later~

Steven and Bismuth adjusted the cannon on the sand of the beach. The other gems stood to the side, standing behind a large rock, provided by Jasper. Twilight stood a few feet away from the cannon. She turned to the gems and gave a swift nod as the two finished getting the cannon ready.

"Are you sure you wanna do this, Twilight? It's okay to back down, you know." Steven said nervously.

Twilight looked to the cannon. "I'm sure." she nodded.

Steven sighed and got behind the rock. 

"If every pork chop were perfect, we wouldn't have hot dogs." Steven said the code words gloomily, as if this plan could go horribly wrong.

The cannon lit up and a light glowed in the front as a beam of pink light came rushing towards her. Twilight closed her eyes and outstretched her arms, letting the blast hit her, causing another explosion to roar out. One by one, the gems peeked from behind the rock, examining the damage. Grey smoke clouded the area. Suddenly, a grunt was heard and in the smoke, Steven could faintly see two pointed ears sticking up.

"OW!" A voice said, annoyed. "That doesn't feel too good the second time."

Amethyst sped of the smoke dialation by using her whip and all they could see was Twilight, covered in purple fur and standing on four, canine like legs.

"It worked!" "It worked!" Steven exclaimed, he and Amethyst running and concealing Twilight in a hug.

"Man, it feels good to be back." Twilight laughed, looking at all the gems. "Ya'll can stick to two legs, because I'm a-okay with four."

This caused the gems to start laughing at the remark.

"Steven bought spacetries! I call dibs!" Amethyst called, sprinting down the beach to the house. Twilight dashed after her, enjoying the salty ocean breeze flowing through her fur. It felt good to be an animal again.

~Oh my gosh that took forever to write. But, there you have it! It's finally over! I just wanna thank the people who have read this book.
