Cruel Grace (#5 Final in the Golden series)

Chapter One: Getting taken from the pack sucks!

I blink, the brightness seems unreal. I try to get up and notice my hands are tied. Damn it I think to myself. I have only just rescued Nico and Elissa and now I'm not there to care for them like I did the rest of my pack.

I sigh and look at my surrounding, I'm in a white cell and it has a window in the middle. How the hell did I get here? I ask myself, I don't have an answer.

I wait for ages and suddenly the door next to the window, swings open.

I stare not believing who it is. "hello Toby, thought we were on your side right?" the man before me says.

I growl. I feel my eyes widen and I struggle against the silver hand cuffs. the man I thought would back me is now trying to kill me.

I grit my teeth as he whips my front. blood oozes from the wounds and I breathe deeply. Not letting my yells out. my wolf refuses to let my enemy know my weakness.

"What do you want" I growl.

"Expose yourself to the humans"he says.

"Never, Jeremy" I say.

"Then your pack dies, along with you" he says as he plunges a knife into left side. My vision blurs and my hearing goes. the last thing I see is Jeremy grinning down at me. I wonder what will happen if I do what Jeremy wants me to. I know what he plans but if it happens all werewolves will be killed, I can't allow that to happen, I have to think of my pack and of the other werewolves.

I sigh, my mind races but I'm helpless. I can't do anything to help anyone.

"Toby, Toby wake up" I hear as my body is shaken.

My eyes snap open and I stare into Hunters eyes. I have to fight the urge to bare my teeth.

"Hunter?" I ask, wondering if this is a dream. My mind works over time to try and figure out if I'm dreaming.

"Its me" she says

"What did he do" she says putting her hand over her mouth. I struggle to look at my body.

I shrug and wince, the door flies open to reveal Jet, Jay, Mark and Nico. I wonder where Kay is but I know he will be here somewhere.

Hunter grabs my hand cuffs and snaps them while the rest back us. She pulls me up and ducks under my arm.

I sigh and my eyes start to close. I feel my body be picked up by Jay and Nico.

Just as we get to the door leading to our freedom, hunters appear from all angles.

Nico let's me go and phrases into his half form, I watch in awe as his body grows and his ears stretch to the top of his head.

He fights like a seasoned hunter, I know Jet has been giving him lessons. My body sags and my wounds bleed out.

Jay supports me as my body refuses to move. My thoughts are jumbled and my sight is blurry.

We limp towards the door. my head feels like it's about to explode and my feet ache from the strain.

Once we get to the door, Jaze, Jet, Nico, Mark, Kay and Hunter start to back with us. Jay and me shuffle to the SUV that's awaiting us.

Jay opens the shot gun door and I grit my teeth as he helps me in, I leave my pride and instincts at the door knowing I'm going to need help that my wolf demands we decline.

The others fight until they are within running distance and they jump in the SUV.

Jay starts it up and we shoot out of the parking area. the road is bumpy and my wounds throb with every bump. I sigh and wonder what will happen after this. I refuse to think that the werewolf race will die but in my mind I know it will get a lot harder before it gets better.

I groan as Jay roughly pulls around a corner. Kay holds me steady as the SUV swirls around the bend. I feel the blood slide down my side and I bite my lip from crying out.

"He's losing blood fast" I hear someone say, my head is heavy and my sight is blocked. I sigh as my mind shuts off leaving me with nothing but blackness.
