Cruel Grace (#5 Final in the Golden series)

Chapter Nine; Getting my pack back

We enter the safe house with Cody, Mark and Grace. I carry Cody but I don't think he's going to make it. Blood coats him and me, too much to be okay.

"Can we get some help" I yell.

The three werewolves who helped my mate, enter the room. They get to work as soon as they know what's wrong. I pace the room, hoping and praying that Cody will somehow pull through this.

I see Gem out of the corner of my eye, I turn and embrace her. She giggles and I steal a kiss, I look deep into her eyes. I sigh and kiss her soundly.

"I missed you" I say.

"I missed you too" She replies.

"As soon as Cody better we are going after the rest of our pack you know" I say.

"I know, you better come back to me, to us." She replies.

"I will, I promise" I say while putting my head on Gem's belly.

I let go and yawn, I grab Gems hand and we head to our room. I jump onto the bed, she follows with a laugh and I pull her close. she cuddles closer to me and we fall asleep.

"Toby, wake up" I hear Mark says.

I gently slip out of Gems grasp, careful not to wake her. I walk with Mark to the hospital wing, I see Cody sat up and talking to Grace.

"Wow, he healed fast" I mutter.

"yeah, we are all ready to get the rest back" Mark says.

I nod, "We leave tomorrow" I say as soon as Cody can hear us.

"OK" He says.

"I'm glad you're alright" I say.

he nods and we all head to get some more sleep. I yawn and wriggle into the position I was in before I was awoken. Gem sighs and grabs me tighter.

I groan when the sunlight hits my face, I roll over and snuggle with Gem but she jumps up. I sit up and look at her, she smile shyly at me and I smile back.

"What?" I ask.

"Nope, you're going to go save you're pack now get up" She mock growls.

"ok" I say as I kiss her.

We all jump in the van as soon as we can, we head to Manchester first. After about two hours we finally find the building Nico and his pack are in.

"Hunter and Cody, you're with me, Jaze and Mark you two guard our path out of here" I say. Gold runs next to us, his little frame bursting with happiness.

As soon as we go in, I smell Nico. I point left then right, Hunter goes left while Cody goes right and I go straight ahead.

I find Nico and his mate in a cage but Nico's pack is nowhere to be seen. I watch Nico as Hunter breaks the door to their cage.

"Nico, Elissa you ok?? where's your pack?" I ask

"Yeah we're fine and I don't know I think they are in the next room" Nico replies. 

I nod and we head to the next room, I see Nico's second and the rest. I run to their big pack cage.

"Is everyone ok?" Nico asks.

"Yeah" They say one by one.

I nod and we head out of the building, I see red light flash and I know we need to get out of here and fast.

I hear I creak "RUN!" I shout as the floor is blown apart.

I pick Elissa up,  Nico's pack make sure he gets out and I see the rest of my pack in the van.

"Let's go get Kay and Emmy" I say once we are on the road.

Everyone nods and so we head for leeds, I shiver. My wolf is telling me something is going to happen but I don't know what.

We drive right up to the warehouse that holds Kay and Emmy. I jump out and we do a sweep.

I find them in the first room but the problem is that there are so many guards that we wouldn't be able to get everyone out safely, I sigh and rub my head. I know we are going to get hurt but I can;t leave Kay and his mate to suffer.

I dive in, Hunter and Jaze attack and Mark and Cody guard our path. I jump and kick one hunter and duck under another.

I leap over the rest and I slam my fist against the cage door. It pops and Kay jumps out, I gently pull Emmy out and I try to get her out of the chaos.

I get her to Mark and he goes to the van with her, I join in the fighting. We work as a pack and soon the hunters are down.

I look behind me too late, a hunter bears down with a knife that's intent on killing me. I feel the blade slice through my body.

"TOBY!" Hunter yells as my body fall to the floor.

Cody drags my body as Jaze finishes the last hunter. Cody picks me up and I feel my life blood spill onto his shirt.

"Stay with me Toby" He says as the car starts.
