Knocking on the door of his parent's room, Mayank tried to pull their attention towards him. They had reached home late last night so he couldn't talk with them about his internship.

The confirmation mail came to his mailbox the previous night only. And he waited for them till 11 pm. Chhaya didn't reply to his texts either. He woke up with a reply saying congratulations from her side. He replied with a thank you and that was the end of their conversation. His conversations with every close person around him were short and formal and he missed his old days when there were no worries, when everything was alright. He didn't realize when his parents got back, so here he was now, initiating the talk with his father.

His father, who was till now reading a newspaper, glanced up towards the door to see Mayank standing there, fiddling with his fingers. He kept the newspaper at the side and gestured his son to enter the room.

"Dad I wanted to talk to you about something." He muttered as he stepped his foot inside. Mr. Bhadana nodded his head once again, implying him to continue speaking.

"I got a paid internship in Bangalore. I have forwarded the mail to you so you can check it out. The internship is for four months." He started explaining and saw a small smile getting tucked at his father's lips at the end of his sentence. His father was happy. He stopped speaking watching it as his heart got filled with warmth.

"That's good. When do you join?" His father asked, crossing his hands and looking up at Mayank expectantly.

"From 20th of July." Mayank replied and heard a gasp from behind. Snapping his head behind, he saw his mother standing at the door.

"You will leave within a week?" Seema asked rushing inside the room.

"That's the plan. And about that..." He fumbled looking back at his father. He wanted to ask him about the dance camp. That's the sole reason Mayank decided to join the company before the beginning of August. So he could go and attend the dance camp too. But he didn't want to do that without getting permission for it.

"We have a dance camp there from 18th. I can stay there until I find a good place to stay. And I can attend both my office and the camp. I swear I won't let the dance camp affect my work in any way and this will be the last time I talk about dance with..." He started mumbling non-stop in a nervous tone. His mind was telling him that his father would never agree to the dance camp and at any moment a slap would land upon his cheek.

The smile from Mr. Bhadana's face got wiped off, as he sat there thinking about what Mayank had said. Seema took the seat next to her husband, waiting to pitch in for Mayank if he declines to listen to Mayank's wish.

"How will you manage both the camp and your office together? That's impossible. You will skip your work for that stupid dance and then they will take away such a good opportunity from you." Mr. Bhadana put forward his doubts.

"I swear to God I will not do that. I will attend the classes only after I return from the office. I won't let you down. Please trust me this one time and I will stop talking about dance for the rest of my life. I promise you that." He pleaded making Mr. Bhadana sigh.

"You promise to not let dance destroy your internship? And to handle the internship with the same love and care that I know you are going to show to the dance camp?" His father stood up, adjusting his position, so he could look straight into Mayank's eyes.

Hearing his father, Mayank immediately nodded his head vigorously. "I promise I will give both of them the same importance. I will take the internship seriously." He answered.
