Chapter 7: Fix You

Around the afternoon, you meet up with your gang, Maki, Inumaki and Panda.

All in their usual spot for training which was the only field. Maki was the first to notice you coming.

"Took you long enough to show. Where the hell have you been?" She says.

"I was with my brother doing some missions. He needed me"
Maki only sighs.
"Only your idiot brother being clingy as ever. Whatever as long as you're finally back, I get my sparring partner once again"

You smirk as you unwrap your sword from your harness you've been carrying.

"Inumaki, Panda, how have you guys been?" You asked.
"Salmon"
"Not too bad, it was pretty entertaining though how Maki couldn't stop talking about how she missed battling you" Panda snickers.

"Shut up! I didn't do such a thing"
"Well it's good to be back with you guys. It's been a pretty crazy week for me" you said.
"We've heard you've changed your pills" Panda says.

You stopped doing warm up stretches and looked at the ground.
"Oh...so you guys know about that"
"Tuna"

"Your brother is always updating us about your conditions, this isn't the first" Maki says.

You scoff and continue doing your stretches.
"He only wants to be sure you're okay. And we only want what's best for you, (y/n). Who knows what'll happen if Hina-hime plays with your he—"

"If you want what's best for me, then stop worrying too much about me. I'll be fine, okay. I don't need to be monitored all the time by everyone, I'm not a child" you said cutting off Panda.

Everyone just stayed silent and just went off to doing their own thing.

As always you were Maki's sparring partner. And as always, you two would end up in a tie. Drenched in sweat, you wiped your face off and drank some water.

After training with your group, they decided to grab something to eat, except for Panda. You were about to agree until you heard a familiar voice.

It was Megumi.

"(Y/n)"
"Megumi, what are you doing here? Aren't you going with my brother to pick up the third first-year?"
"Soon, but right now at the moment, I've been wanting to talk to you" he says.

You look back as you see Maki, Inumaki and Panda all waiting behind you. You sigh.

"I didn't even tell you yet if I'm able to"
"It'll be quick"
"Being quick always never means that in the end"

You grab your sword harness and strap it from behind. You clutch the strap with one hand.

"I'll talk to you this afternoon sundown, alright? Promise. You got a first-year to get with Itadori anyways"
"...Okay"

It was now just awkward as you two just stood there. You quickly made the move and turned around. Walking away leaving, Megumi slowly went back.

"What was that about?" Maki asked.
"Nothing, he just wanted to talk"
"Mustard leaf?"
"No. That was a long time ago"
"Sometimes things change" Panda says.
"Yeah well I guess I've changed for the better"

Maki scoffs.
"Heh, I guess we keep forgetting that you were young too" Maki says.
"I still am...just...matured mind wise" you said.

Panda puts his paw on top of your head while you're all walking.
"You don't always have to be a stick in the mud (y/n). Besides it would be a nice to see your happy care-free side"
"Care-free? With (y/n) being a Gojo I doubt those old higher up geezers cut her some slack" Maki says.
