Chapter 3: An Unexpected Visit

Last time Jin went to the museum for a cleaning job and ended up in the middle of a robbery that he promptly and swiftly took care of the robbers. Now it's time to see what they get up to next.

It was a rather slow Friday at the Yamazaki house as Jin dragged himself out of bed to start his day. Jin entered the living room where he was greeted by Lorem, who was holding Lorem in her arms. "Morning, what's the plan for today? You don't have a job right?" Lorem asked as she gave Jin a small smile on her face. "Well I could work on the truck, it has been acting up a little bit. I could also go grocery shopping." Jin said as he ran his hand through his hair. "Oh if you do go to the store, could you please pick up a few things for me?" Lorem asked as she handed him a small list of stuff for Gospel in particular.
Jin looked over the list before putting it in his pocket. "Alright, maybe I'll go to the store first. We are running low on stuff in the fridge." Jin said as he pulled out his wallet and checked the cash he had in there. "I should probably stop by an ATM and get a little more money." Jin mumbled to himself before putting his wallet back in his pants pocket. "You know I could do the shopping while you watch Gospel." Lorem said as a guilty look spread across her face. "How many times do I have to tell you, it's fine. Besides you don't know how to drive so it would be pretty hard for you to shop." Jin said casually as he leaned against the wall.
               "I can fly, plus I'm strong enough so carrying everything would be easy!" Lorem countered as she didn't want to let this one go. Jin sighed as he knew Lorem felt slightly bad for just living with him and not contributing as far as money and shopping. "Look, I've told you multiple times that it's no big deal, besides you help keep this place clean. That and I appreciate having the company around." Jin said as Lorem got slightly embarrassed at his words. "Look I'm going to the store, I'll pickup the stuff on your list. Be back in an hour." Jin said as he exited the house.
                Lorem heard the truck pull out from the house as Jin started making his way towards the city to go grocery shopping. Lorem refocused her attention on Gospel who was playing with her hair. "Why does Jin put up with me anyway? He does realize how dangerous I am? Or how negative people will look at him if they find out he's sheltering a demon?" Lorem thought to herself as Jin was one of the only people who showed her genuine kindness. Even amongst her fellow demons she was hated, she spent most of her life being hated for existing.
              Lorem's thoughts were interrupted by a knock on the front door. "Who the hell would come out to the middle of the forest? Jin said a lot of his friends lived in completely different parts of Japan." Lorem thought as she walked up to the front door and slowly opened it. "Hello?" Lorem said as she saw a demon girl with long black hair and glasses standing there with a smile on her face.

"Big sister I finally found you!!" The demoness said as she hugged Lorem happily. "Merii?! How did you find me?" Lorem asked in surprise and shock at the sight of her younger sister. "I tracked you down! Did you really think you could hide from me forever?" Merii said as Lorem sweat dropped at her little sister's statement.
              Lorem welcomed Merii into the house as she sat down on a chair next to the couch. "So this is your son? He's rather cute! Hopefully he doesn't turn out as violent as you." Merii said teasingly as Lorem glared at her. "Shut up! I've mellowed out!" Lorem said in an offended tone as she glared at her sister. "I'm just teasing you, though I'm surprised you were able to find an abandoned house in such good condition." Merii said as she looked around at the house that looked like it had been lived in recently. "It's not abandoned, it belongs to Jin, he's a human I met." Lorem said casually to Merii.
                Merii's expression darkened at the mention of her sister living with a human. "Lorem, did you threaten this human and force him to let you stay here?" Merii asked as the whites of her eyes turned completely black. "Wha?! No of course not! Jin's a really nice guy!" Lorem said defensively as she tried to calm her sister down. "Really, a demon as violent and aggressive as you didn't threaten his life." Merii fires back as Lorem gasped in genuine offense. "Jin is my friend!! There is not way I'd threaten his life!!" Lorem growled as the whites of her eyes turned black as well before returning her sister's deadly glare as there was complete silence.
The silence was interrupted by Gospel getting fussy as Lorem began to gently rock him back and forth. "Look if your so bent about this whole thing, Jin should be back from the store within an hour. If you think I threatened him you can ask him yourself." Lorem said dejectedly as she had a rather distraught look on her face. Merii noticed that her sister seemed rather hurt by her statement, which was out of the ordinary for her. "Alright if you insist, it will at least let me apologize on your behalf." Merii said in a softer tone as she and Lorem waited for Jin to return home.
