Life as a hockey player herself dealing with growing up with 3 brothers all close in age who are all in the NHL. Payton has to choose between brothers, friendships, and relationships in her life that may not be easy.

It's been almost a week full of Leafs games which has been so much fun since it's Easton's first time going but it's also been a lot of work. Austons family is in town to watch him which has been a lot of help on my end by taking a break from the baby.
They are up 3-2 in the series. Tonight is a big game because if they win- it's over, but if they end up losing, then it goes to game 7 which is something we totally don't want to see happen.
I dress Easton in some black sweats, white Air Force nikes, and a a blue Toronto maple leafs jersey with 'daddy' on the back of the jersey along with Austons number, 34. I put on black leggings, black high heeled booties, and a white T-shirt underneath my personalized Toronto/ Matthews black- distressed jean jacket. Once everyone was ready, we all went out to get dinner before we head to the game. Taking a baby anywhere is hard. You don't have to just grab your purse anymore, you have to take 10 different bags and things along with you everywhere you go. It's especially hard when I'm taking him out way past his bedtime.
"I am so excited, you know this is my first Stanley cup game in my life?" I say to Austons dad as I sit down in my seat soaking it all up. "It's something very special now that you have this little man. He won't remember it, but you both sure will" he answers back.
Period 1: 0-0 Period 2: 0-1 Period 3: It's late in the third period and we are still down by one but I am definitely not counting this team out. The time ticks down under the 10 minute mark. Morgan Rielly gets ahold of the puck and breaks away from the Colorado defenseman. He shoots and scores!!! It's now tied 1-1. The pick is dropped and the leafs took the win on the face off. The puck passed from Hyman- to Marner- to Matthews. Auston takes the puck dancing through all of the people on the opposite team. My heart stops as he gets ready to take a shot. The horn goes off, making my sleeping baby wake up from his nap after hearing it through his headphones.
"Oh my gosh. Did that just freaking happen?!" I couldn't believe it. "Yes baby! He did it" his mom starts to cry tears of joy. "He scored for you guys."
3...2...1... the second tick off and the whole team rushes off the bench to tackle Auston and run to their goalie on the ice. Not only did they just win, Auston just scored the winning Stanley cup final goal.
We make our way down to the tunnel so they could meet up with our families on the ice to celebrate this amazing game.
"And the Conn Smythe trophy belongs to.. assistant captain Auston Matthews!" The announcer says. He deserves this so much. The biggest trophy of all- the Stanley cup, finally gets around to him. Hundreds of photos being taken, he lifts it up and gives it a big old kiss. Afterwards, we put our son in the cup which is something I've always dreamed of doing.
Everyone was around taking photos and videos and probably us being on tv. "Payton! Look" I hear Steph say in the background. I was oblivious to what was happening because everything was a blur and I just couldn't stop looking at my baby.
Oh my god.
Auston was on the ground, on one knee, next to the Stanley cup, holding a small black box with a ring in it.
Is this really happening right now?!
"Payton, will you marry me?" He says last after saying a little speech to me. I tear up shaking up head yes and pulling him up to kiss and hug him.
This is his day, I couldn't believe he did this today. I was not expecting this, especially today.
