A/N: Is this story interesting to anyone that reads it or should I trash it now? I usually only write things like this in my drafts, I just decided this one was good enough to post. So let me know I guess if it's trash or if you would like to hear more, working on further chapters as you read.

CHAPTER NINE

AMia Walsh's POV:

He carried me all the way to the pack house, despite my efforts to get him to lower me and walk on my own. I finally gave up as he said, his Irish accent thick in his deep voice, "would you rather me ravish you here little wolf?" That shut me up immediately as I blushed furiously and shook my head quickly, secretly enjoying how he had laughed. So carefree and joyous in the moment. He was never like this around anyone, and I mean not even his beta, the man he chose to be his best friend, didn't hear him laugh and joke around. Or so he says, I however am sure he has joked with the beta many times he is just trying to be intimidating in the pack house.

As we were walking my dad started speaking to me in the mind link, we had, "Mia, get somewhere safe, the house is under attack by rogues, have Jax meet us there alone." I pulled myself away from his chest with worry, forcing him to stop walking and let me down. "Baby, what's wrong?" his voice was soft as his hands grasped both sides of my face, gently rubbing where they lay at.

"My dad needs you, I've got to go meet the women and children at the secret house, to help calm them. He said the pack house was under attack by rogue wolves, and a lot of them I assume. He sounded tired already. Go, I will be fine." I ordered him away and shifted into my wolf, giving his leg a nudge with my nose, licking the palm of his hand affectionately, before running off into the woods for the secret hide house. I just hoped the pack would be okay after this, I assumed since Jax was going to help that this would all be over soon.

As I got there, I tapped three times and then whistled, the secret "code" to the women letting us in. My grandmother's worried eyes reach mine as she opens the door, muttering in her native Irish language, which I never learned despite being 100% Irish myself. Her hands reach over and pull me into a strong hold, muttering about "my baby my baby," stroking my hair for her own comfort. After my mom died, she just took over as the mother figure for me, vowing herself to be my caretaker and greatest ally in life. Which, I appreciated greatly, I missed my mother though so much. My heart ached and my eyes stung with the pain of her loss still.

I gasped when I felt a slight pain over my head, moving quickly to sit down from the instant headache and blurriness in my vision. Jax must be fighting now with my father, though I couldn't feel my dad's fight over the bond Jax, and I had created. I knew in my heart that Jax would never let my father be harmed greatly, or even killed, as scary as that thought was. "They are fighting hard Mia, do not fear for them, they have a strong will to save their own pack. Plus, Jax, the alpha of all alphas and the king of all, is there to save the day. They will be fine; we just need to wait for your father to give us the signal through the door to let us out." Grandma kneads and massages my scalp, trying to relieve the pain but it was still there, though I didn't let on for that.

I breathed in and out deeply a few times to calm myself, however a strange scent reached my nose and I immediately said "QUIET PEOPLE" through the pack link to all the women and children in the pack safe house. No one dared to move a muscle, and I grabbed one of the silver-loaded guns we had here for our protection and pointed it to the door. I hear a scratch at the door and move slowly to dead bolt it to the walls, which were concrete. It would take ages for a wolf to get through. However, I heard a feral growl before the door started to shake in the hinges. I gasped and started to shake, knowing that there were both vampires and werewolves waiting on the other side to kill us all.

"I know you are in there little girl, come out and face us, or we will kill your precious mate. King Jax will be dead before you know it and you will be mateless." I gulped before calling out, "Jax is much stronger than you, I am no coward, but I will not open the doors for people that want my pack dead. You will get them and me over my dead body you demon." I roared at them through the door hearing silence and then chaos started.

I moved back in shock as the door started to rattle with even more strength behind it, there must be more than one at the door trying to break it down. I mind-link Jax, "Jax we need help at the shelter, my father will know where it is. Vampires and werewolves trying to break down the door. Please come" I shrieked and pulled some kids behind my body to protect them as pieces of the door started to break and bend at the effort behind them. I don't have anything to stop the vampires, but I've got enough bullets to take down 40 wolves in here. I take a deep breath before starting to aim the gun their way, pulling the trigger on a huge wolf, hearing their whine of pain as the silver started to burn through their skin and organs underneath.

I moved further back as more of the door started to open up, allowing them to reach for us, but we were in the furthest corner away from the door, trying to wait them out before they got in here. I hear the vampire that spoke before whisper something but through the screaming children and the crying women, I couldn't make out what he said before the whole door split down the middle. I was pulling the trigger so much that my fingers started to cramp up, moving my arms back and forth, shooting wolf after wolf. There seemed to be a whole pack of them here, it was a trick. Attack the pack house, move all the women into one spot and kill them.

I had to hand it to them, the tactic was smart, but it was fool proof seeing as my mate is furious at the attack. I could feel his roar before I heard it, feeling the ground shake with the vicious sound, everyone of the men at the door faltered and stopped in their tracks, fearing the beast they were about to be on the wrong end of. "Oh, would you look at that, Jax isn't so weak after all. He is the king, and the king won't let his mate come to harm." I heard some wolves whimper while the three vampires seemed to shrink back into their own bodies, making them as small as possible, hearing the damage being done outside, around the door. "Either run now, or forever be dead by the hand of my mate." I snarled when one of the stupid wolves darted towards us, however, my father had taught me well.

My hands pulled the trigger before he even got within 10 feet of us, shooting him dead center of his forehead. His dead body shifted and fell in an awkward position, not that he could care I had just killed him. Guilt struck in my mind as I looked at the boy's body, he couldn't have been more than 16 years old. A boy lost in the world of chaos and anger, suffering for something that he shouldn't have. All the vampires moved their head in unison, searching for something before leaving the wolves to fight the battle, running off like cowards.

I made eye contact with every wolf in the doorway, challenging them to come forth. "LEAVE. NOW." I commanded, feeling the part of my blood that was Alpha come forward, they whimpered showing their necks before running off. They were just kids looking for somewhere to fit in at. Maybe in another lifetime I could save their souls from the darkness, I hoped we would find them and help them before it was too late, and they became fully feral and rogue. They still listened to the alpha command which means there was hope.

I see one of the wolves, this time huge and grown, fly into the doorway, my gun still raised in defensive mode, until noticing his head was missing from his neck and he shifted back to human. I sighed as I heard my mate get closer, seeing his body full of deep gashes and bullet holes, I gasped moving towards him. I jumped into his arms and held his head against my neck while he smelled my scent to calm his beasts. His hands were gripping me like a vice, almost painfully, but I accepted his hug like it was air. "Oh Jax, you're okay." I sighed in relief after a moment of being in his presence. "Yes, little wolf. I will always come back to you." he kisses the side of my head before making sure the women and children were safe before exiting the building.
