I looked at the ceiling in the dark. Finally alone with my thoughts. Fews blinks to wash away the little worries of my life as Sergeant if the Survey Corps and the ghost of last Winter Party came back haunting me.
Again.
How much his single drunken kiss talked to me more than any woman I've kissed.
How his hands on my shirt sparked me, burning my soul through the fabric .
How I froze, unable to respond while wanting so much more.
How warmth filled my heart everytime I looked at him
How I was unable to answer his questioning eyes, looking at me back.So close and still far away
How avoiding him was the only peace to push the ghost away
and still...
Someone knocks on the door:
''It's better be urgent...I won't get out of bed for some crappy jokes again. Someone better be dead or something on fire! ''
The door opened. A wool Blanket on his shoulders, wool hat on his head, a pillow in his hand, a candle on the others barely revealed his face.
It was Levi.
The ghost haunting my dreams,
in person. He closed the door and hits his back on it. He sighed closing his eyes than walked towards my bed:
'' it's been three days I shivered all night, the east wall is crap. I am gonna sleep in your bed,'' He said with a stern tone, apparently way tired and pissed off of his day than I was.
He put the pillow at my side and I arched an eyebrow:''and I guess so...''I said, unable to think anything appropriate.
He blew the candle . Letting the darkness put a smile on my face.
I heard him removing his boots. I grabbed the blanket to add over mine and opened the heavy quilt. I felt his frost knee on my legs and soon his small body curving towards mine.
''fucking hell... you are brazing like a titan!'' He said.
I put my arms around him. He was definitely cold, dangerously cold :
''Damm no regrets...'' he whispered, putting his frozen nose on the middle of my chest.
''why have you wait mid-january to complain, we could had fixed these walls by now''
''I filed 12 complaints and apparently, I am the only one to be bothered. And nobody died to take their room! ''
''and why you came to me?''I asked.
He rolled, sticking his deadfrozen back on my chest:
''do you want my whole thought process or just-?''
''the whole thing of course''
Levi chuckled:
''First, my friend already has someone in her bed . So I had widened my hunting ground. I dressed up a list of people not resident in the east side barrackment. Narrow down all the people that bathe recently and with excellency in their room inspection... Then I dust away the weirdo and the man with untrustable hands... and basically you were the only one left. ''I chuckled:
''And what make you think you can trust my hands?''I said, putting my hands on his waist.
''if I had to report any misbehaviours, and such a tart on you, will destroy your officer career'' He said with a dry tone.
My hands paralysed one moment;
''also...I...you know with... you know I-'' He tried to say.
I smiled and put my arm under the pillow, below his neck and grabbed him closer. His little hand going inside my fingers in a tiny frozen ball.
''I am glad you are here... but I'm really tired...so shut the fuck up. We could talk all you want tomorrow. Now I'm dead'' I said putting my chin over his head.
''thanks''
No more ghosts. No more worries. Just sleep.
