new world chapter 7

BEEP BEEP BEEP

The sound of beeping hurt my ears. I try to open my eyes, but can't because, the light up hurt my eyes. I wondered why there was a bright light, and a beep. It didn't occur to me that I was in a emergancy room, until the light faded.

"He's coming to his senses," an unrecongnizable voice said. It sort of sounded like my docter that I go to, but my mind couldn't think.

"Thank god!" Said a voice that I knew well, and was realived to have there. I sat up immediatly, giving everybody a scare.

"Dylan!" My eyes looked around the room for Dylan, but I couldn't find him. My eyes just were not focused yet. When they finally cleared up, I gave another look around the room. Sitting in the chair across the room, was exactly what I hoped for. For some reason, the sight of him made tears weld up in my eyes. I didn't think that I would ever see him again.

"Hey, no need to cry."

"How did you get here," I give him a questioned look,"you live on the other side of-- Oh you were at Maggies house. Did you score?" I was talking like I wasn't even in a hosbital bed. I was talking like it was any other day. I saw the blushing on his face, and I knew he did. "I knew you would within a week."

"Hey, we were drunk."

"Now that I notice, where is Maggie?"

I see tears in his eyes, and I knew that she didn't make it. "I got your messege, and just ignored it. When I looked out side, I saw all the destrution. We got dressed and started to head to this address. We came across a fallen lampost. She was running to my side, and she was above it. Right then, a meteor came down, and made the lampost spring up. She sprang up too. Next thing I am seeing, is her body being thrusted into a wooden plank, that was sticking." He couldn't hold the tears back any more. They flooded his face, and he couldn't speak for a few minutes. After the tears stoped, he continued to speak. "I continued on, and then I saw you. You were on the ground choking up blood. I called over some of the people, and then they put you on a gerne. That was the last I saw of you, until now."

"Wow, I didn't think you would even make it." All of the sudden, I feel a sharp pain in my arm. "Ow!" I look over, to see the doctor has put in some liquid into me with a shot. "What the hell?" I really hate shots.

"Don't worry, it is just a drug to help you sleep."

"Wait, you gave me a drug to he--" I fall to the bed, and can't help but close my eyes.

I wake up again, to find the doctor in here again. "Don't you dare put another drug into my arm again.

"Don't worry, I won't. I only did that, so I could get you ready to move. Before, you wouldn't have been able to stand up. So go ahead, try to stand up."

I put my legs over the bed, ready to stand up. I put them on the ground, and when I push my self up, I expect to fall. But when I go up, I stand up. Surrprisingly, they work just fine.

"How about you go and explore the ship. Try to find your friend." I follow his instructions, and head out the door.

I am amazed at all the artwork in the halls. It is all big, and it is a style that I have never seen before. I look down the hall, to see Dylan. "Hey Dylan."

"Hi."

"So, what did I miss?"

"The world being destroyed."

"So what do we do?"

"They haven't gaven us any instruction of what to do, so I have been meeting people. Not many humans here. It looks like, most of them were destroyed last week."

"Wait, I have been out for a week!"

"Yeah. But look, you should meet this girl I met. Her name is Baily, and she is sexy."

"Are you seriously hitting on a girl already?"

"Have you met me. Come on." I follow him down the hall, and find myself in a bar looking thing.

"Are we in a bar?"

"No. Hey look over there." I follow his finger to where he is pointing, and see what he is talking about. Sitting at the table is a girl with buetiful flowing hair, a round face, and just some thing that I don't know how to explain. "Go talk to her, I bet you will like her."

Not hesetating, I walk over to her, and ask her,"Is this seat taken."

"No please sit down. I'm Baily."

"I'm Darren."

"Are you the Darren that is a friend of Dylan."

"Yes." From then we hit off and I was starting to wonder how she got here. "Quick question, how did you get here? I didn't see you at the meeting."

"I thought that you might ask that. Well let's start from the beggining. Last year, I was a freshman at my school. One day I was walking home, when some guy came up to me, and gave me a note. On it, it said for me and my family to go to some address. We went to it, and they told me that we had to come with them to help the start of humanity, because the world was going to end next year. They said that we had to learn how to help you guys because you would be coming here. So in the last year, I have been learning their ways, so I can help you. How did you get here?"

I started from the beggining, to when I got the note, to the meeting, to the run. She listend all the way through, just like me. When I was finished, she said something that really confused me,"Well it is getting late, I better get to bed."

"Wait, how can you tell time in space?"

"After a while in space, you just get used to what time it is."

"Oh well, goodnight."

"Night."

I get up to go to my room, when I see Dylan. Like usual, he is making out with some girl that he just met. "Goodnight Dylan." I look at the girl, and see that she is probaly 21. When they break apart, I can definently see that she is drunk. I roll my eyes, and let out a chuckle, as I enter my room.

I go to some curtains, and pull them back. What I see before my eyes, amazes me. It comes to me, that space, is more than what it seems. There are all sorts of colors, shapes, and sizes. After staring out the window for a few minutes, I climb into bed. Within a few seconds of my eyes closed, I am already asleep.
