CASSIE
“The board cannot do that I own fifty one percent of the company’s shares and I can as well fire their asses if they joke around with me, I started this company from scratch and it took a lot of energy in me to make it go public and they think they can come up with this load of bullshit, I am not laying off anyone. Tell them I’ll buy all their shares if they see it fit not to work here anymore,” I said to my legal adviser.

“What the hell is going on here Dave?” I heard Claire come in.

“The board wants Cassie to lay of almost a thousand of the employees because this is a tech company and it has so many ways of automating operations going on here such that it doesn’t need manual labor. They are saying that this will increase the income generated per half year.”

“How many members to be precise?”

“All seven of them.”

“Those nut heads are in for something else who do they think they are? Many people depend on these jobs to feed their families and also cater for everything else they need. Those greedy cons are not going to win this. Alert the team we have a lot to do about this.”

“Claire this is not your fight, you just arrived from Paris hours ago and I am sure you must be jet lagged go home and get some rest I will handle this, Dave and I will.”

“What I have done all my life Cassie is look out for you and my family all together and nobody messes with my family at all, I will teach them a lesson never to forget.”

“Those are powerful people you are going to be dealing with, they will drag your face through the mad Claire,” Dave said.

Smiling heading towards the door “Dave my grandmother did not raise a quitter besides I have a PhD in law I am going to put it in to practice this time around.”

“Who’s her grandmother?”

“Queen Margaret ll”

The press sure got wind of the news that THE JONES is planning on laying of most of its employees and they really did a twist and turn on the story, hell even at the show that night I wasn’t spared.

“Oh and by the way Cassie the press has been running this circus story about you in the media and I just wanted you to clear things up for everyone who has been bombarding me with silly questions, because I am about to go full blown Meany miss b on them.”

Sophia really had a way of making things seem light no matter the magnitude of them. She had the audience in laughter now.

“I am not heartless I know many people depend on those jobs to take care of their families and so that is why I am going to fight tooth and nail with my team to make sure this does not go through.” I said in all honesty

After a little round of talk with the phenomenal woman Taraji about how her career is coming up fine we rounded up the show for the night with me heading home a very tired woman.

“Cass is that you?”

“Yeah Claire, is Leila asleep yet?”

“No she opted to wait for you in the lounge room Andres is there too, let’s go “

“Sweetheart you are back finally, I heard about  what happened at the company today, those people messed with the wrong team today, come over here I am sure that you are very tired having to deal with all of that on your own”

My ride or die always there to pick up my tired pieces.

“Sophia had my back today, I was able to let the world know of my intentions without really having to deal with the press”
