LEILA

“For Christ sake Leila, we are hungry,” Claire shouted from the living room.

“I wonder why I gave the staff this week off,” Claire said.

“Oh her majesty here wanted to cook for the family,” Madeline said.

“More like starve us to death,” Mac countered.

“It is not my fault that you added weight and cannot stop eating at every second.”

“Skinny girl I am not the one who is appearing on cover magazines so give me a break,"Claire said in between laughter.

“So any wedding bells soon my dear friends?”

“Im engaged,” Madeline said showing us her ring.

“Do we know him or her?”

“Claire has met him twice now but he is handling business back in New Orleans then he’ll be here in two days’ time. His name is MacGyver Hathaway, yes like Claire Hathaway.”

“Oh that is news, we’ll be having another royal friend,” Dave said.

“You fool catch up she has been our friend all along nothing will change,” Andres said hitting Dave with a pillow.

“That is so wonderful?” Cass said waking up to give Madeline a hug and everybody else followed suit.

“Andres you also better get Claire off our heels she is not growing any younger as it is.”

Claire blushed profusely when I said that but she managed to recover quickly.

“Do not be such a mother hen, what would you do without me by your side,” she said.

“That is true,” Andres said, she takes care of you like her babies I do not want to deprive you off that little chick.

Food was served and we all ate heartily before we retired to our assigned rooms and guest houses. Yes none of my friends would be sleeping in hotels.

CLAIRE
“You know that you have liked Andres since I don’t know when maybe it is time you two act upon that liking,” Madeline said as she entered her room.

Lightening flashed and a burst of thunder was heard outside. I jumped back only to land in someone’s arms.

“It’s only thunder,” Andres said.

“It just startled me a little, I am not afraid of storms.”

“Let’s see.”

Still, he moved slowly taking his time trying to gauge my reaction. He laid his hands on my waist sliding them up and down my body smooth and easy before lowering his head then fit his mouth on mine.
Her lips were just as I thought and imagined, soft and sweet, with a yielding tremor her hands wrapped around my neck. The next flash did not make her jump instead she rolled with the thunder sinking into that lovely flood of pleasure.
I combed my hand through his hair and took what he gave and no I had never been afraid of storms. Even when he eased back I felt wonderful.

“That was quite a storm.”

“And I went aboard a ship that can withstand the storm Im sure,” he said with a smile.

He kissed me again, stealing my breath shooting bolts of heat and ice along those newly awakened nerves.

“You are enjoying this I see.”

“A lot I could do it all night if you let me, stay with me tonight,” he said.

“’I think my room is much comfortable and spacious, race you there.”
