The next morning, I wrote a letter to my mum, letting her know about my new friend and the odds and ends I forgot at home. I knew she would act annoyed about sending my things but she really should be used to it by now from the past five years. I briefly smoothed Addie's wing feathers before I let her out of the dorm's window.

After I was prepared for the day, I decided to wake Charity, as she was the only one still asleep.

She rushed to dress, cursing me for not waking her earlier. The smells of temptation in the form of breakfast treats from the nearby kitchen enticed her to move quickly.

We chatted merrily as we strolled to the Great Hall. All the other students were already discussing and comparing their times tables. As we sat, Professor Sprout wobbled over and handed over our respective schedules with a warm smile.

Charity looked at mine with a sad face. "We only have Herbology, Potions, and Free Period together," she huffed. I met her sad gaze with my own.

I was truly disappointed, but I was glad we at least had three blocks together. We guzzled our breakfasts down in silence and gathered our bags. We waved our goodbyes and went our separate ways.

As I was hastening down the corridor, I felt my bag rip and heard my supplies clatter to the ground.

Just my luck.

I quietly repaired my bag and started to clean up the mess. My inkwell cracked, and that was easy enough to fix. However, I couldn't remember how to return the ink to its well, so I set aside the empty glass bottle.

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a tanned hand pick up my empty well. Upon further investigation, I recognized him as the boy from last night. Anger burned in my stomach as I remembered the incident from last year. He returned the ink to its rightful place and smiled warmly at me. I pointedly ignored his kind gesture as I shoved supplies into my newly repaired bag.

His smile flickered slightly as he gathered his books. "Hey. I'm Kaie. I sat behind you last year-" he started, but I cut him off.

"In Transfiguration. Yes, I remember. I also remember you nearly killing me with that dragon of yours." I clipped. He blushed and scratched the back of his neck.

"Yeah that was me..."

"But guess what I don't remember, an apology." With these words, I grabbed the inkwell and poured a little onto his chocolate locks, his eyes wide with shock. That was the only inkwell I had with me, so I didn't want to waste it all on him and entirely ruin his day. I got sorted into Hufflepuff for a reason after all.

As the day dragged on, I realized that Kaie and I had every class together.

Perfect.

I told Char and the boys what happened before first block, to which they were proud of, but had suggestions for what I should have done.

The Marauders suggested dumping not one, not two, but three full inkwells on him.

"Then maybe dye his hair green for good measure." Sirius' eyes gleamed with mischievous hope. He soon got distracted by Snape passing in the hall, and he left to torment the poor boy with green hair dye.

Char was much more kind with her revenge plan in Herbology.

"You can't go halfway with these things Ana. You should've dumped the whole thing on him. It would've been harder to clean up. I mean, look at him. He hasn't been dissuaded at all."

And he hadn't. Kaie ambushed me with apologies every time I turned around. By dinner time however, I felt bad for what I did and accepted his apology with one of my own.
