Author's Notes: I really SHOULDN'T be starting another book. But I thought of this storyline from listening to music and just HAD to at least start it. Watch it become like the others- started then forgotten or that I lose motivation. Lmao.

Warnings: Triggering scenes. Mention of blood, gore, and death.

The world could be a cruel place to those who did not know how to be such—always damning the poor, the weak and blessing the selfish, the malice. Every day, innocence has lost hopes and even their lives to the cruelty people are born into. This doesn't change, no matter who or what fights the darkness. Some suffer enough to turn into such...

But Sorano has never lost hope; she never lost the light that is ever so dim to the world. At a young age, she lost both of her parents from raiders. Greedy people attacked her tiny village, and people lost their lives. Luckily she was one of the few that lived that day. The neighboring town came when the news hit—saving those who survived.

Thankfully she was too young to remember the bleeding bodies that were struck down in front of her. She was given to an orphanage to live out her days until she could marry or fend for herself. She was sad about what happened but couldn't complain about her life. Compared to some, she had it pretty good. The orphanage mothers were very nice, teaching her vital skills and making friends during her stay.

The village she lived in was just as kind. The people were very kind and caring, being sure to be there for each other. She would often leave the orphanage during the day to help out with whatever she could.

She was so filled with hope, hope that seemed would never die, that grew stronger the older she grew. She knew of the cruel possibilities that could present themselves, how everything could result in a second. But she didn't let them ruin her. She lived as if there wasn't a care in the world. She lived her life to the fullest.

By the age of 16, she met a boy who was a year older than she. A boy born into a family of farmers. He was a hard worker, working days and nights in the fields to feed the village. Sorano had the pleasure to meet him during one of her daily adventures. She spotted him tilling the gravelly soil, preparing for another season of crops.

He seemed to struggle as the tiller of his mare broke. He now had to use his small handmade one. No one was around to help, so she gladly skipped over and offered her assistance.

At first, the boy was wary since she was a female. But she quickly proved that she could do such as much as a male. It was a tedious job, but it paid off well when the seeds were planted, and the boy invited her to stay for dinner.

That day lead to many other days. While most were helping in the fields. Others were for rest. Laying under the tall trees nearby, some staring at the sky, others talking away.

First were strangers, next to work buddies, then to friends, to best friends, then finally to lovers. By the age of 18 and 19, the boy asked her hand in marriage.

She happily agreed and got married the very next day. The two were very happy. The small village even claimed them to be the adorable couple. Sorano continued to help in the fields as her lovers' parents passed the farm to him. They were able to grow many crops and even expand the fields a little. Life was good for her. She couldn't ask for better.
