SYNOPSIS
Lillian Ivy Rose "Arlyse" Salvatore didn't ever fit in. Her parents named her Lillian Ivy Rose, thinking she'd be a sweet and beautiful young girl who'd follow any suitor's wishes. Arlyse Salvatore wasn't anything of those things, including Lillian Ivy Rose. She went by Arlyse just to piss her father off. She was too loud, too crude, too outspoken, too forgiving. She wasn't fit to be a lady, and her father hated her.
The only people that ever really understood Arlyse were her brothers, Damon and Stefan. But all of that changes when a beautiful brown-haired beauty steps foot into Mystic Falls Virginia. Her brothers were obsessed with this new woman, her name being Katherine Pierce. She was captivatingly beautiful and although Arlyse always was interested in females, Katherine was different.
There was something dangerous about her, a cold look and sneer in her eye. Arlyse hated her from the moment they met, and the feeling was mutual. And Arlyse was right. Katherine turned her into a vampire just a week before her two brothers, Stefan and Damon. Arlyse lived to see the transition, but she didn't make it out in time. When her father found out what she was, she was sent to the burning church to rot in Hell, just like the others.
Her brothers thought she died, but when the tomb is reopened 145 years later, Arlyse escapes and finds herself in a world so unfamiliar, that she can't even fathom it. Including the weird doppelgänger situation going on with Elena, her brothers fighting constantly, the Bennett witch hating her guts, and the original hybrid coming into town. As more events unravel Arlyse finds out secrets she never knew before, and she has to choose whether or not she really wants this life for herself, and how far is she really willing to go? For love, happiness, and her destiny.
