1 - A Sunny Day

It was warm around me as if the rays of the sun were gently caressing my skin. My eyes felt wet as if I had been crying. I was slumped over my seat, I probably have just woken up.

Where was I again? I lifted my head, I felt a pang of dizziness, my head was heavy. Was I in school just now? Wasn't I studying?

And suddenly, my memories came coming in like a stream. Today was a Monday, it was the second quarter of school. I remember that I was on my computer all night yesterday. Maybe that's why I got to sleep here in school. Earlier, we had mathematics. We had a very difficult topic, just right when we started the quarter. I suppose after that was break time? I don't remember well.

Maybe that's when I got to sleep here. We only had 30-minute breaks, I probably had deep sleep for 30 minutes, so I thought. I glanced around me without fully looking up. It's the classroom. Except there's no one else here. Maybe break hasn't ended yet?

I rubbed my eyes then stretched my body. My mind was finally clear. It was quiet, except for something. At a distance I heard the sound, it was a gentle back and forth. It sounded like the sea crashing on the seashore.

Strange I thought.

I stood up and walked to the windows and surprisingly, a blast of warm air met my face.

"H - huh?"

As soon as I focused my vision again, the scene I saw before me shocked me to my core. Palm trees scattered along the coast, brilliant white sand reached as far as my eyes could see, and then the lapping of the waves of a majestic ocean.

"WH- WHAT IS HAPPENING EXACTLY?!"

A beach scene just right outside our school building???

"This can't be right"

"Richelle?" A voice erupts from behind me. I turn around to look at her.

"You're finally awake,"

Lo and behold, it's Angie, a classmate, and friend of mine. She had medium dark hair and freckles underneath her eyeglasses. She's our class president.

"What's happening? Why are we in the middle of a beach?"

"I don't know too, everyone else is wondering. Everyone woke up to the same scene as you. You were the last to wake up." Her minimal revelations hit me like a truck. How the heck is this happening and why??

"Wait, no... I'm not dreaming am I?"

Angie shook her head.

"Pinch yourself if you don't believe me, but it's all true, you aren't dreaming," She reveals.

Crap.

I take a seat due to my confusion, my head starts to swirl.

"I know it's unbelievable, we all went through the same thing. Wh- when you're ready, I'll accompany you around." Angie assures me.

"You've been mentioning it earlier, so everyone is here?"

*Nods*

"Are they down there or something? Where are they?"

"Right now some of them are exploring the island and the others might be in their huts. They have huts near here."

Now with curiosity rising above my confusion, I stand up again. "Take me to the others, please."

"Sure, come on." Angie motions for me to come over." Together we walk down the oh-so-familiar school building. Were we teleported here with it? "Don't get too surprised,"

As we step outside, a blinding light blocks my vision, until finally, my eyes adjust.

"We really are on a beach,  this is just... overwhelming."
