This wasn't happening again was it? No, it couldn't be. He'd only just met Jamie, he hardly knew him. This was just a one-off feeling, yeah that was it. He was just having a rough day and it had been a nice surprise when a cheery new mailman had turned up at his front door. It wasn't like it had been that great of a conversation anyway, they'd literally just told each other their names and joked about the old mailman, nothing special. Why was he putting so much thought into this, it wasn't that important. Although it had been fun watching Jamie blush...
Ugh. What was the point in sitting around thinking about some guy when he could be doing literally anything else? Kevin pushed himself up off the floor where he was sat, holding onto the door handle as he pulled himself up. Unfortunately putting too much faith in the door handle.
As he pulled down on the handle Kevin's front door swung right open, throwing him back onto the floor. He scrambled quickly to shut the door, making a loud slamming noise as he did. A deep shade of red began to creep up his face; did that really have to happen now? Of all times?! Kevin buried his face in his hands partly as he walked over to his couch, slumping down on the comfy seat. He swung his legs over the arm and laid his head down on a pillow, making him stare at the ceiling.
Turning the parcel over and over in his hands he thought about what it could be. He didn't remember ordering anything, maybe it was a gift off someone. Kevin scoffed at that thought, yeah of course that's what it was. The tape on the side wouldn't give as he picked at it which led to him aggressively pulling it with his teeth. When he eventually got it open all that was inside was a new scarf, which he wasn't expecting.
Kevin threw the scarf onto his coffee table as he groaned, "I bought this ages ago, i thought it got lost," It was near Christmas when he'd ordered this to replace his favourite one that he'd lost, now it was well into March and not really needed anymore. He was going to wear it anyway though, what the hell did the time of year matter?
It was a cold day in Beach City, bright but cold. The golden sun peaked through Kevin's closed blinds, leaving thin yellow lines across his bed and floor. A small chirping noise came from outside his window, filling the silence in the apartment. Early spring always made the town look beautiful, it gave it an almost perfect feeling, putting rock ladies and supernatural events aside. While the cheery atmosphere didn't do much to lift Kevin's spirits, it did put a smile on his face momentarily. As much as he hated the city there was just something about it that stopped him from leaving. It was his home at the end of the day, he couldn't ignore that.
Kevin looked at the time on his phone, 9am, and moaned. He was supposed to go to a rave tonight, well, he'd wanted to. Now after the 'sleep' he'd had he couldn't think of anything worse. Guess his night had just opened up, he thought to himself. Kevin pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed, maybe he'd go out to help clear his mind, it's not like he had anything better to do. It was either that or stay home moping in bed.
Slowly Kevin slipped into his clothes and grabbed his scarf off the table, wrapping it around his neck loosely. His keys clattered together as he put them in his pocket, slightly shaking still as he walked through his apartment. Eventually he got through his door and slammed it loudly behind him, probably waking up many of his neighbours.

Kevin hadn't known how long he'd sat on the beach for, time seemed to stop if he wasn't paying attention to it. For hours he'd watched the waves repeatedly lap against his feet, calming him as it did. The salty air had always been something that relaxed him, although he didn't exactly know why. Beaches always brought back a memory of him and his mother playing in the sea from his childhood, a thought that always provided him with comfort. A smile crept across Kevin's face as he watched the seagulls bobbing on the ocean, that seemed like a lifetime ago now.
