In the summer of my 8th grade year the house next door was bought. Hearing those couple words from my sister Lola made me feel...feel like nothing else mattered. I ran up stairs to my room and watched the new neighbors unpack. I could see someone handing an older women boxes from a truck. I kept trying to see if I could see their face but I couldn't, so I sat patiently waited until they got out. Finally after the last box was handed over I saw a boy a good couple inches taller than me hop out of the truck...he was so gorgeous! I could not take my eyes off him...I mean until he walked inside. School started in 2 weeks...I wonder if we would go to the same school? I hade to make sure I looked perfect that day. I spent a week of my last couple weeks planning out what I would, what I would wear!
The week before school started I spent a lot outside! I had to get at least a little tan..I spent most of my time indoors so I'm pretty sure I was pasty white. It was Thursday evening and I was laying in my yard reading a book in shorts and a swim suite top. I heard a door shut It must be my stupid slut of a sister going to "hangout" with her boyfriend. But everyone in my house knew she was going to have sex for the hundredth time that week. Before she left she didn't forget to say "bye little bitch". After I heard the car leave I heard a faint voice say "that wasn't very nice" I sat up and it was the boy...the prefect, beautiful boy. He came and sat by me. He asked my name..I could hardly speak! "Ugh...ugh...its veronica". It felt like it took me a century to say that. I asked for his and he looked me straight in the eyes with his piercing light blue eye. He said softly "Hamilton Nash Grier...but I go by Nash" I looked aways and then back. "Well it's nice to meet you...veronica". The more Nash talked to me...the more I realized he was even more perfect than I thought. Having that conversation with him was the longest conversation I think I ever had in my whole life. I asked him what school he would be going too, and he said Colonial High..I'm so glad I'm in eighth grade this year because I'll be going to the same school! I asked another question...kind of nervous like "so...um..what grade are you in?" He replied shortly and quickly "10th"! There goes my dreams of ever being with him...no tenth grader wants to date a stinky ninth grader. Nash's mom popped her head out of their front door and told Nash it's time for dinner. Nash got up and started heading toward the front door I got up and did the same. But before we both walked into our houses he asked..."do you want to hangout tomorrow?" I nodded my head slightly and walked in side.
That night I laid in bed and I could not get my mind of off Nash. That boy gave me the best day of my life in 4 hours. I could not wait for school to start, I would be starting the year off with a new friend already! I had to get some sleep because tomorrow I was gonna hangout with him again.
