TW: mention of mental and physical abuse
I walked into the classroom and sat right on the side of Draco. He and I were one of the only students in the class, so I knew I could talk to him now.
"We need to talk," I said.
"Blaise and Theo busy?" Draco spat.
"Why are you being so cold to me lately? Did I do anything?"
"No. You haven't done anything. That's the point."
"Was there something I was supposed to do?"
Draco went to go say something, but then he stopped. "Just forget it," he laughed.
"No! I'm not just going to forget it. Draco, listen to me. You are my cousin, and yeah you can be a git, but that doesn't mean I don't love you. I care about you so much, and I'm sorry if I haven't shown it recently. I'm also sorry if I make it seem like Theo and Blaise are more important than you. They're not. Yes, I love them because they're my best friends, but that doesn't mean that I don't love you as much."
"You're just saying that," he said. I could see some tears start to form in his eyes, but he quickly blinked them away.
"I'm not, Draco. We're gonna get closer again, okay? I feel awful that we've drifted."
"Do you really mean that?"
"With everything I am. So can you tell me what had you so upset last night?"
Draco was about to tell me until a happy Pansy came running over to us. "Hey, Scar. Hey, Dray."
"Later," Draco mouthed to me. I nodded my head to show him I understand. "Hey, Pans."
"Hi," I smiled.
The class went on like it normally did which was absolutely boring. It's not that I didn't like the class or the teacher. Well, actually it was the teacher.
Whenever I was in Transfiguration or just saw McGonagall she would always give me such a nasty look. It's not like I was a bad student. I was one of the best ones. I was right up there with Granger. She just treated me differently.
I never told anyone this, but I think it was because I was in Slytherin. More specifically because I was Bellatrix's daughter, and I wasn't afraid to point it out.
Half the teachers called me 'Ms. Scarlett' instead of 'Ms. Lestrange', if they referred to me in that way. It was almost as if they were afraid to mutter my last name. Not that it compared to the Dark Lord's name, but to them it was probably still scary.
It didn't matter though. My mother was in Azkaban and I don't think she was going to get out anytime soon.

The next class I had with Draco was Potions. This class didn't have Pansy, Blaise, Theo, or Lilith, so I knew Draco and I could talk.
One of the benefits of being Bellatrix's daughter was that Snape favored me. I didn't know why, but he did. He also tried to help me with my control with my powers, but I didn't see him that much for that. Not recently anyways. I didn't need it though because the only time I needed control was when my emotions started to heighten. That was when it got scary.
I was one of the first people to get to Potions, but people started to fill in after a bit. Draco and I sat together, but we sat in the far left corner which was nice.
I was pulling out my potions book when I felt someone brush against my back. I lightly jumped, but turned to see Draco sitting next to me with a smile.
