Chapter 10- The Room
It was small. It had a desk with a chair behind it that was backwards, a cabinet and a wide red rug in front of the desk, nothing on the walls besides the cabinet next to the door.
I entered the room slowly and hesitantly careful and mindful of my surroundings. I walked forward in front of the cabinet and opened it, inside it there was only a big red button. Now, I know what people say about red buttons and how you're not supposed to push them but in real life it is a lot more tempting than seeing some TV show character do it. So I slowly brought my hand forward and pressed the button slowly until it was completely pushed down.
“bring!”
A little squeal of a alarm as If It was a microwave warned me that a stand came out of the ground behind me. I spun around and that wasn't the only thing that had changed. The door was closed and Richard and my cross bow was locked out. Also across from me the chair had moved so that it was facing the desk now and there was a man sitting in the chair, a short pale skinned hazel eyed auburn haired man, and he looked just like me
.
“It can't be...can it?” The man muttered in a low voice that sounded intimidating and controlling. “Do you happened to be named Lydia Belle?”
In shock I stepped backwards, why does he know my name? who is he! My eyes suddenly noticed something in here that I had not noticed before, a vile on the stand that came up from the ground, it was labeled cure. Can that possibly be..the cure?
“Judging by your reaction you are, let me explain I am Charles Belle The current leader of the HALA. I was the one who invented the disease as I have heard it now called Crepusculia, and I happen to be your father.”
My father! That can't be right! how? me? I just don't understand anymore! I continued with out talking, having no idea what to say.
“You probably think I am a Horrible man, and a horrible father. Well I will never know but I don't think I am all that bad. Lydia my daughter come join me in changing this planet to what it is supposed to be, ridden of the humans who destroy this world! Join me Lydia!” Charles started to yell as he told this to me, he seemed like he was going insane.
I suddenly became aware of a weight in my pocket and peeked at it slightly so that my father (Just thinking that makes me feel so upset and full of anger) will not see. I slightly opened up my pocket to make it look like I was just itching that area. I saw a Crepuscular rays flashlight! if I could flash it at Charles then He would just be a pile of ashes and no longer a threat. But there was only a three out of ten chance it could work, but I had to try! I have no idea how it got there but there seemed to be a note with it that I could not read right now, no matter what this item is blessing!
“You are not my father! I could never join you!” I screamed this as I pulled the flashlight out and aimed it right at Charles, hopping with all my might that the odds are with me tonight. I flipped the Crepuscular rays on and right in front of my eyes I saw the most evil man on earth who is also my father disintegrate into ash, and gone forever.
I did it. I defeated the leader of the HALA! I have obtained the cure! I dashed forward and grabbed the vile and began to examine it. My aunt could definitely replicate more! My aunt... I terribly miss Rita and Dearral and I made promise that they would be the first people I pass out the cure to.
I knew I could do it and I did!
The note in my pocket! I almost forgot! I took out the note and began reading it
Dear, Lydia,
You are a successful young lady and I am proud of what you have grown into. You may not see me around any more but I am still watching over you.I will always be in your heart baby doll, and you will be in mine. I will love to watch you grow into a amazing adult. If you need me remember I am always here!
I love you!
sincerely, Hazel Belle, Your Mother
P.S. Who said ghosts don't exist?
A shiver randown my spine and the room didn't feel quite right. I could tell Then that I wasn't alone and that I never will be alone, again.
“I love you too mom.” I gently spoke these words and the feeling lifted, once again the room felt normal and at peace.
I was ready to face the rest of the world, I felt a whole lot older, and more mature that I ever was before. The problems that used to annoy me won't be quite so big, the world will be much more simpler, at least I hope so.
The End.
