Chapter 5: Argus...

(3rd Person POV)

After reuniting with Dairoku, Yang continued to drive with the others on the trailer and Dairoku flying alongside them with his Barbatos Lupus wings while Maria told them all her story of being the legendary Silver Eyed Huntress known as The Grimm Reaper.

Maria: But I wasn't... I went into hiding soon after.

Qrow: I can't believe it... You... You're the Grimm Reaper, you were a legend! And then you disappeared...

Oscar: How exactly does a legend just disappear?

Qrow: You never used your name... you never showed your face... Lots of us thought you were just layin' low. Eventually, we just came to accept you were probably dead... But the stories about you... I based my weapon off yours... I wanted to be as good as the Grimm Reaper.

Maria: Well, I'm nothing but a disappointment, so you're well on your way.

Blake: How could you say that?

Maria: Child, a Huntress is supposed to protect others to the bitter end. But after I lost my eyes, I only ever looked after myself. Even after my surgery, I was too afraid to fight. Afraid someone would find me again, finish what the others started. You shouldn't aspire to be like me, especially when some of you are clearly stronger already.

She glanced towards Kuraime and Dairoku who were both quiet.

Maria: It's... comforting, seeing that your generation seems up to the task of inheriting this world. I'm just sorry I didn't do more to leave it in better shape...

Ruby: Well... maybe you can do something now. Teach me and Dairoku to use our powers like the way you did.

Kuraime: And you wielded Twin Kamas, maybe you could teach me how to dual wield scythes better since now I somehow have two.

Dairoku: ...I'm still stumped about something... My eyes were normally red... How did they magically turn silver now...?

Qrow: Well, the most likely situation is that you inherit your Silver Eyes from your mother, Scarletina Yuuki.

Dairoku raised his eyebrow.

Kuraime then took out the picture of Scarletina, Dairoku and Raven, that Raven gave her...

Kuraime: Yeah... in this picture, your mother had Silver Eyes, like you do now...

Dairoku: Then... why were my eyes red for most of my life...

Maria: That is still a mystery to be uncovered boy.

Dairoku fell silent as he reached for his Mother's Andromeda on his back before inspecting it.

Dairoku: Qrow... Did... mom also want to be like the Grimm Reaper...? Like you...?

Qrow: Yeah... Both she and I inspired to be like the Grimm Reaper, our weapons were based off hers but she was a step ahead of me, thanks to those Silver Eyes of hers.

Dairoku just continued staring at the scythe before sighing sadly and holstering it back. Ruby and Kuraime noticed his demeanor and exchanged worried expressions before the former's scroll began beeping. She took it out only to be surprised.

Ruby: It's Jaune!

Yang stopped her bike while Dairoku stopped flying

Weiss: How?

Ruby: *answers* Uh, hello?

Jaune: *over scroll* Ruby! Oh thank you! I've been checking my Scroll for your signal since we made it to the city!
