During lunch period, Jared replied to Allie saying that he'd be happy to go to the mall and movies with them. He wasn't too thrilled with the idea of shopping, clothes were boring. But, it did allow him to spend some more time with Caitlyn so he'd take the opportunity. He told his mom that he'd be going to the mall after school and then the movies after and that he'd be home that night. She reminded him that curfew was at 11. He assured her he'd be home by then.
School came to an end for the day and he met up with the girls at the flagpole in front of the school.
"Ready?" Allie asked. Jared thought she looked more excited than normal to go to the mall. Caitlyn wasn't there yet.
"Absolutely," Jared said. "Shouldn't we wait for Caitlyn?"
"Nah," Brittany said. "She had to move some laundry over at home and said she'd meet us there. Let's get going."
The three of them hopped into Allie's big blue Jeep and headed towards the mall.
"What movie are we gonna see tonight?" Jared asked from the backseat.
"Not sure yet," Allie said honestly. "We didn't look up showtimes and we'll just pick something once we get there."
"Sounds like a plan," Jared said.

Caitlyn moved the laundry from the washer into the dryer to keep the washer open for when she brought Jared over later to clean his clothes.
"I can't believe I agreed to this," she said to herself as she went upstairs to her room.
She touched her makeup up in the vanity and opened her closet. In the back was the floral dress that she purchased on a whim for Jared. She placed her hand on it and pulled it to the center of the closet. The red roses really popped off the white base. Maybe she'd get to see him in it after all. She smiled and turned to leave for the mall, leaving her closet door open so she'd see the dress when they got back.

When Caitlyn got to the mall she checked her phone where she learned that they were already at American Eagle.
Caitlyn caught up to them and noticed that Brittany had a decent armful of clothes for herself while Allie was looking closely at the women's jeans, presumably trying to find a pair for Jared.
"He's going to wear girls' jeans?" Caitlyn asked.
"Well, it would be hard to explain why we bought boys' jeans for ourselves." Allie countered.
"Not really, then we'd have pockets." Caitlyn shot back.
Allie shrugged, "Should we do the ones with the butterflies or a more plain one?"
Caitlyn noticed the change in the subject. She looked at the two pairs of jeans Allie was holding up. One had a sparkly butterfly on the back pockets and was a lighter shade of denim. The second was a pair of dark denim jeans with a small star on the left back pocket.
Caitlyn bit her lip, something she did when thinking. As much as she'd love to see Jared's butt encased by butterflies, she didn't want him to be too uncomfortable. "We should do the star ones."
Allie arched her eyebrow. "You sure?"
Caitlyn nodded while looking at the butterfly jeans.
"How about you get both?" A young boy wearing a nametag said. "It's a buy one get one free sale this week."
