LEXI'S POV
The bright white light was back again. This time, it wasn't comforting. It was causing immense pressure onto my eyes. I shifted my head to one side to avoid it, but the light was everywhere. The loud ringing in my year was reducing by the second and I could hear voices. I tried my hardest to open by eyes. After around eight failed tries, my eyes opened in the ninth.
"Welcome back Ms. Hunt." My eyes met an unknown face. She looked kind and comforting.
"Where am I again?" I asked. My voice was extremely groggy, and I struggled to speak. She handed me a glass of water which I readily sipped.
"You're at Mount Sinai Hospital." She spoke. "I'm Dr Reed."
"How did I get here?"
"What is the last thing you remember Ms. Hunt?" she asked.
My mind went blank. For a second there I thought I lost all my memory, but things slowly came back to me.
"I was at my apartment with Ethan." I replied. Then it struck me. "The crash! A car slammed into Ethan's car. I was driving it."
"You sustained quiet severe injuries and a lot of internal bleeding. You were brought just in time to the hospital. We had to put you in a medically induced coma so you could heal properly." Dr Reed told me.
I soaked in all the information, piece by piece. I was shocked to my core. "Oh my God what about Ethan?" I asked frantically. The heart monitor that I was connected to started beeping wildly.
Was he okay? Did something happen to him? Oh God I wouldn't be able to live with myself if something did.
"Calm down Ms. Hunt." Dr Reed said calmly and firmly. "Mr. Hunt is absolutely okay. He has a broken arm which is healing absolutely well and a few broken ribs. But he's alright now."
I took in deep breaths and sighed in relief. The monitor indicated the same.
"Your friends are waiting outside. They must be dying to meet you." she said with a smile. I nodded gratefully. "I'll be back to check on you in sometime." With that Dr Reed left, shutting the door behind her.
Within seconds the door was pushed back open, and Kylie's moisture cladded eyes met mine.
"Oh Hunt!" she gushed as her rushed forward and pulled me into a hug.
"Ouch careful bitch." I grinned.
"Don't you dare do that again! You worried the shit out of us!" she wiped her happy tears away the same time I wiped mine.
"Us?" I asked.
That's when Ethan entered. His left arm was in a cast. "Lee!" he cried out as he hugged me next.
"Ethan! Are you okay?" I choked. I was so overwhelmed with the amount of love in the room.
"I'm absolutely alright." He grinned. "You look much better. How do you feel?"
"I've been better." I chuckled.
"I'm sure you'll be fine in no time." Kylie gushed from behind Ethan who nodded at her statement.
"Lee?" a voice called from towards the door.
"Jackson?" I recognised it instantly.
"Hi Lee." He came closer and hugged me quickly.
"Jackson, there's som-something I-I need to tell you." I recalled slowly.
"Its okay. It can wait." he smiled kindly.
