I'd like to take a moment to apologize for my inactivity in general. I was in this funk and I had no motivation to write or do anything.
Valentine's Day is in five days.
For the first time in a few years, James hadn't asked Lily out for Valentine's Day. She both liked it, and disliked it. She hated to admit, but she sort of missed his pestering. Then again, she's glad to have as a friend and nothing more.
Normally, the Lion Ladies (a nickname Marlene came up with for her, Alice, Lily, and Dorcas) would spend Valentine's Day together. However, both Dorcas and Alice had dates.
Lily was the only person who knew why Marlene was angry.
For some odd reason, she was the first person both of her gay friends came to when coming out of the closet. Sirius came to her about his feelings for Remus...before he realized what they were, of course. Almost the exact same thing happened with Marlene but with Dorcas.
So when Dorcas came back to the Common Room with a broad smile etched upon her face declaring she had a date with a Hufflepuff, Lily's green eyes instantly fell upon Marlene. The blonde smile and congratulated her friend before saying she had to use the loo. Lily told Dorcas she was happy for her but chased after Marlene.
"Damn your Quidditch stamina!" Lily heaved as she found Marlene in the Girls' Bathroom. "Need I remind you I hate running?"
"You didn't have to come," Marlene had said in a strained voice.
"Marls-"
"I'm fine."
"Right because suddenly running out in anger and near tears is the definition of 'fine'."
"I said, I'm fine, Lily!"
"I just really had to pee."
"Really?" Lily sassed. "Could've fooled me."
Tears welled in Marlene's blue eyes, but she was trying her hardest not to let them fall. She bit her bottom lip before shutting her eyes, hoping to conceal the pain. Nonetheless, Lily noticed and brought her friend in her arms.
At first Marlene fought it, but the tears did end up falling.

"What the actual hell, Sirius?" Marlene hissed as the boy in question suddenly pulled her into a broom closet.
"I have a propsotin for you." The grey eyed boy said quietly.
"If you can't tell, Black, but I'm not in the mood for your shit today-"
"Your words wound me, McKinnion," Sirius feigned hurt.
"Too bad. So sad. Go cry to your mummy about it."
"My 'mummy' doesn't love me," Sirius shrugged.
"Sirius," Marlene whispered softly. "We talked about this-"
"Do you wanna hear my plan or not?" Sirius countered.
Marlene froze. She remained silent for a moment. She inclined for Sirius to continue.
"Will you be my girlfriend?" He said slowly.
"Darling, I'm gay. You're gay!" Marlene whispered quietly, reminding him. She spoke almost as if she were talking to someone with memory loss.
"I know that!" Sirius hissed. "You still have to teach me how to do eyeliner!"
"We're both gay!" Marlene brought Sirius's proposal back. "We can't be in a relationship!"
