I woke up to the sound of cartoons and the smell of bacon. I easily got up from the couch so Cameron wouldn't wake up. As I got up I remember everything that happened around four this morning. When I walked to the kitchen I saw Jared sitting at the counter watching cartoons. He had his backed turned to me, so I walked over to him and tapped him on the shoulder. He turned around and smiled at me with the greatest smile I have ever seen.
"Good morning," he says to me while still smiling as he pulls out a chair for me to sit next to him.
"Morning! Are you wounds alright? I don't think you should be moving around a lot with everything that happened to you last night," I say playfully but seriously at the same time.
"Yes, well my wounds still hurt but not to that bad," Jared says back with a smile, but the smile quickly fades into a frown.
"What's wrong Jared," I ask with a worried tone in my voice.
"Uh Saralin," he said quietly.
"Jared what is it," I ask even more worried than before.
"I have something important to tell you and you might get mad," Jared says very shyly.
What does he have to tell me that is so important? What if he's going to tell me what happened to him last night! As the thoughts wander through my mind I just reply with," okay what is it."
Jared is now kind of shaky and I can tell he is nervous.
"Jared it's okay just tell me," I say hoping to sound encouraging.
"Okay so first of all I'm really sorry for just showing up at your apartment this morning. I came because your the first person I thought was close enough to walk to. I saw your address on your form at school yesterday."
"Okay so thy explains how you knew where I lived," I say.
"Saralin that's not the only thing I needed to tell you," he says sadly.
"Okay then what else do you need to tell me," I asked confused.
" someone obviously came and beat me last night until they thought I was dead. It was the men who work for the guy I had a fight with. Saralin in a street fighter. I've been illegally fighting for about four or five years now. Honestly last night wasn't the worst fight I've been in," he pauses to see if I had anything to say.
"Jared do you know how dangerous this is! You almost died last night and to think you have been in worse situations? Jared I stayed up worried sick about if you were going to live and be okay! I was terrified!! I've lost my mom and I'm about to lose my dad. Jared I can't lose you!!
I can't believe I just screamed that last part at him. He is going o think I'm crazy because I just said that even though I don't even know him.
"Saralin," he says softly while taking his hands and wiping away my tears. "I'm so sorry about your parents and I'm sorry that I scared you," he says while looking into my eyes. "I know we barely know each other but I can tell that you like me. Saralin I really like you too," he says quietly before wrapping his arms around me. "I don't want to lose you either sweet heart."
