Everything felt so surreal. The buildings, the quad, the giant whimsical fountain it all seemed to be from a whole other world. The bright colors of graffiti covered the foreign language and arts section. The medical building was tall with staff and student prodigies running frantically around. The cafeteria was filled to the brim with hungry students and smelled delightful. All in all the decor of the school was beautiful. As I continued walking my IPad sounded off. I checked it and a page was pulled up.

"Attention Students,

At this time we would like all of you to move into your dorms quickly and head to your home room. This will be your only class today as we understand that you will need to settle in. We are so for the inconvenience of not telling you about the dorms, however you will see this is very important. I hope you all have a safe and beautiful day.

Sincerely,

Principal Heathens"

I closed my IPad and dashed off to the bakery. As I walked in I saw I was early. There were only 7 people inside, including myself 8, just standing around. Then, I heard the door close and lock behind me.

"Mr. Cyrus," a voice behind me said. "Nice for you to finally be here."

Chills ran up my spine as I turned around. There stood a woman with short, purple hair wearing a chef's uniform. She was generally tall, shorter than me but only by an inch or two.

"Sorry ma'am, I got lost." My reply was short and to the point.

"Well you're not technically late, so take your pick of a station and class will begin." She then turned around and walked to her desk. I looked around the room and walked to the farthest station. It was a beautiful green color. The color you'd imagine of chlorophyll. I looked around the room. Baking equipment lined the walls on shelves while ingredients filled the pantry. My chef side had an orgasm just staring at everything.

"Excuse me," someone in front of me said. "You seem to be drooling."

"Oh sorry," I replied embarrassingly, wiping my mouth in the process.

"No problem!" The boy sounded energetic as a blush began to form across his face. I smirked and held out my hand.

"Cyrus." A smile spread over my lips. My hand was met with a slightly smaller, softer hand.

"Leon," he replied while shaking our hands.

Soon, our lesson started on the art of baking. Mrs. Atsumu gave us a project to bake a delightful summer time treat by the end of the period. As soon as she said go everyone scattered, quickly grabbing ingredients before anyone else could.

"Very nice pina colada trifle Leon," Mrs. Atsumu commented. "However, I feel you could have added much more coconut flavor. Nevertheless, you get an A."

"Thank you so much ma'am," Leon nervously replied. Before leaving the class he walked up to me and gave me a slip. "Call me later, please?"

"Yes sir." I gave him a joking salute and brought my food for presentation.

"Ah, Mr. Dela Cruz, What have you brought for me today?" Mrs. Atsumu asked as she took a slice.

"Coconut angel food cake lemon bars," I explained as she took a bite.

"Quite interesting," she replied. "I've never had something like this. The angel food keeps them lighter than they would otherwise be and the coconut and lemon curd reminds me of a tropical treat. Very good Cyrus, you get an A."

"Thank you ma'am," I bowed and took my leave. Once I was out of the classroom I did a little victory dance. I checked the time. 9:30am. I had sometime before I had to meet up with Vick and Jake. I decided I could start bringing some stuff from home to move in. This year was going to be interesting.
